Issues with WMP54G and Vista.

Hello -
I just built a new machine and everything except for the wireless card works great. I have a WMP54G and that card apparently has major issues with Vista. I am on Vista 64 bit, and I have version 4.1 of the card. It just randomly disconnects, or if it doesn't disconnect it is extremely slow. I've replaced the router (WRT54G2-works great), and all the other machines in my house get excellent reception. I have great reception but traffic just crawls.

My question is two-fold:
1.) is there anything I should try?

2.) If I needed to replace the card with a 64-bit compatible one, do you have a recommendation?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

heh, check out the first review on new egg:

Pros: Nice antenna, good design for 32bit systems only!

Cons: This card IS NOT Vista x64 compatible. Yes you can get vista to recognize it and connect to your network then surf the web, however, my vista frequently crashes with this card. I have tried the newer drivers (which isnt even posted on edimax website) that is supposed to fix these issues but it still has problems. Switched to regular Ethernet and not a hitch.

have you personal gotten it to work on a 64-bit system?
I'd actually like to know as I want to switch to 64-bit vista but this part is holding me back.

I've got problems with the reviews on that part.

Did you try the Ralink OEM drivers?
