- he's going to drain those political donations until there's nothing left and then claim some wishy washy excuse for dropping out once it's gone

He's been draining donations for a while now....from his own party!!!

Trump accused of ‘stealing’ from Herschel Walker campaign with deceptive fundraising emails (msn.com)

He was keeping $9 out of every 10, and not just Walker's campaign:

In addition, the North Carolina Republican Party, JD Vance’s campaign and Ted Budd defaulted to the 90-10 ratio as well. North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley said Mr Walker’s campaign contacted him about it.

Questions/thoughts about this-

- If he has a massive war chest of political donations, would that have to go to the gop traitors if he wasn't running (?)

No he can't, it's a leadership PAC so he's not allowed. He can however "donate" all the money to his MAGA, Inc. PAC and then that can "independently" pay for ads against his opponents and for him.

I'm sure there won't be any coordination so it's all legal. /s

Why Trump won’t be able to directly funnel his huge war chest into his presidential campaign (msn.com)

Just WOW!

Announcement was so boring, Fox News even cut away, also, Ivanka didn't even go! LOL

I don't think boredom is the reason, Murdoch already told Trump that he wouldn't support his next presidential run so logically Fox isn't going to give him more air time unnecessarily.

This will turn ugly and embarrassing, so why is Trump running, imo

1. Extremely fragile, yet super sized ego

2. Grift more campaign donations

3. Freeze AG from indicting him

No where on this list is consideration of the good of the country.

Anyone notice the sudden love by the right wing press for DeSantis? I though Fox News was supposed to report the news not drive the agenda?

See now I need Desantis to run and Elon to give Trump his twitter account back!
Trump is going to be fueled by panic (that his imaginary safe haven from prosecution is going to be taken away), rage (that someone is going to stand against him), and his ego, and his ranting would be hilarious to watch.

Unfortunately, DeSantis is going to run. IMO, he is every bit as corrupt, and evil as Trump, but smarter, so much worse.

I really hope the trumpkins get Trump the nomination, because I think Biden has a better chance of beating Trump than he does of beating DeSantis.

Seems there are a few people happy he's running..

Democrats are openly rooting for another Trump presidential bid

As Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that he is running for president for a third time, one unlikely group was cheering him on: Democrats.

“As an American, the idea of another Trump campaign and all of his lies and divisiveness and his efforts to undermine American democracy is an absolute horror show,” Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, told The New York Times ahead of Trump’s announcement. “On the other hand, I got to say that as a politician who wants to see that no Republican is elected to the White House in 2024, from that perspective, his candidacy is probably a good thing.”
“I think we would all like Donald Trump to run again,” Terry McAuliffe, the former Virginia governor and Democratic National Committee chairman, said in a recent interview.

And there’s political logic here. The simple fact is that Trump has never won a majority of the national vote. He was president when Republicans lost the House in 2018. He lost the White House in 2020. His false stolen election claims were blamed for Republican losses in the January 2021 Georgia Senate runoffs, which allowed Democrats to take control of the chamber. And this election cycle, Trump-backed Republicans – many of whom were election deniers – lost in critical Senate and governors’ races.
National exit polling from the midterms also bears out the fact that Trump may well be past his sell-by date. Just 39% of voters said they viewed Trump favorably, while 58% said they viewed him unfavorably. And 28% of voters said their House vote was cast to oppose Trump, compared to 16% who said their vote was a sign of support for the former president.

Now, of course, if you asked any Democrat (including Hillary Clinton!) which Republican they wanted to run against in 2016, they all would have answered “Donald Trump.” And we know how that one turned out.

It’s worth remembering, then, that just because Democrats are cheering on another Trump bid, it doesn’t mean that he would be easy to defeat (if he winds up as the Republican presidential nominee.)
But there’s also little question that the Trump of today is significantly less appealing than the version of the Trump who ran for president in 2016.

Back then, he portrayed himself as the ultimate outsider, someone who could bring his street smarts and business savvy to running the country. People wanted something different, and Trump definitely fit the bill.

But the picture looks very different now. Many more Republican elected officials have been willing to publicly say the party needs to move on after a disappointing midterm election. There has even been some coalescing around Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a credible alternative to Trump.
None of the above will affect Trump’s decision-making or the kind of campaign he runs, of course. Trump lives in a fantasy world of his own creation – in which he is the hero staving off the forces of evil to save America. Or something.

The Point: It is notable that Democrats are publicly rooting for another Trump bid. And it’s something that should give smart Republicans pause.

You know, I'm honestly not sure what this means as far as favorites/winners in the GQP field. But I'd love to see an internal mud wrestling between Trump and ... whoever.

The catch, of course, is that there are numerous Republicans who aren't terribly smart, the Jim Jordans and MTGs who still think mindless loyalty to Trump will pay off in the end. Not to mention the hardcore base hoping it can finally vote for Trump as dictator for life.

Trump HAD to do it. He had no choice. He promised the Q's and the Q's have been losing faith in the past several months because of predicted dates coming and going, coming and going....
So if Trump wanted to at least keep his MAGA Q base, he owed his base this announcement, otherwise they were getting ready to follow someone else like DeSantis and Donald Trump could never allow THAT.

I just hope the media doesn't screw this up for America by focusing on Trump and treating every Trump rally as if it were BREAKING NEWS, just as they did with Trump back in 2016. I don't worry about Trump running for president, or dog catcher, or fairy princess... I worry about the media making Trump out to be something he is not, plausible and mainstream.

This is sooo sick. An insurrectionist who threatened his VP with murder, this same guy actually running for president?
WTF HAS AMERICA COME TO...????? Seriously. WTF is the operative phrase.
You don't understand the Q crew at all. Their faith is unshakable. Every failed prediction is a false flag operation set up by the black hats to make Q look bad.

I keep seeing that clip of Lindy Graham pre Trump before my inner eye; that if the GOP turns Trump they will suffer the consequences later on and rightly so.

Yea. Its up dude. Pony up.

Trump’s master reinstatement plan was running again in ‘24 just so he could get plowed by a bunch of liberal voting machine cock.

He’s a deep state bitch now. Pathetic. Sad.

Also amusing is the people in /r/conservative who used to be all about the Donald are sad and angry because they think (correctly) that if he is somehow the nominee he and his acolytes are going to get bodied for the fourth straight election. They are tired of losing and losing and losing.

But its scary.. he could actually win again!

Judging by our country's history, we don't want to MIS UNDER ESTIMATE again!
