For a party so concerned about crime are they willing to vote for someone under criminal indictment?
Protip: they were not actually concerned about crime.

What an odd set of thoughts you two arrived at.
It is clearly not the sort of crime they care about.
Look to previous summer reporting on BLM and ANTIFA, it's about violence on our streets.
And they will never care when the "good guys" do something. It is always the "other".

I think you're broadly right but it's also not necessarily the 'sort' of crime either. For example violent crime is higher in Oklahoma, a red state, than in New York, a blue one. Do they care more about crime in OK than NY? Dear reader, they do not.

Huh? Choosing not to air his speech was every network's right. Sheesh.

And what's the big deal with Trump saying he's running? There is nothing official about that. Poster boy loser/traitor antic.

Wtf. Are they paying him to post? Why would anyone sign a contract that restricts where they can post?

Probably because Trump is beholden to the shareholders since it's his business venture. He is under contract or statute with the SEC. If he uses other social networking sites it could weaken Truth's position. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I knew a fair number of pissed off Bernie cutists who were mainly mad that Hillary "cheated" Bernie out of winning the nomination. They said (and who knows) they were either going to not vote, or vote Trump, saying childish nonsense like "the system needs to fall apart before it can rebuilt." How'd that work out, fricking morons. The GOP really "fell apart", and you got something that on paper is as opposed to your ideals as you can get. It's like people voting Green party when they care about the environment--way to go, you just helped elect the one party that actively is trying to destroy the environment.

Even dumber is how many of those jackasses turned around and didn't vote in the Dem primary for 2020 either and then had another meltdown after Bernie lost again, once again blaming everyone but themselves for it.

From May 2022

An SEC filing by Digital World Acquisition Corp., the special-purpose-acquisition company attempting to merge with Trump Media & Technology Group and take it public, revealed some interesting details about the SPAC’s deal with Trump:

"President Trump is generally obligated to make any social media post on TruthSocial and may not make the same post on another social media site for 6 hours. Thereafter, he is free to post on any site to which he has access. Thus, TMTG has limited time to benefit from his posts and followers may not find it compelling to use TruthSocial to read his posts that quickly. "

But the merge still hasn't happened and likely never will. Trump is under no obligations with DWACU.

FTR, after reading recent posts in this thread, I don't think most people understand that Truth Social is still a private company run by Trump Media & Technology Group and not beholden to SEC rules. DWACU on the other hand is.

While DWACU and DWACW are also listed, all the references to merging are with DWAC.

Probably the sole purpose of DWAC is to merge with Trumps "Truth" Social, and it's the payday for "Truth" Social, so I'd expect them to merge unless any of the government investigations put a stop to it.

This what is known as a SPAC, which is the way shady companies do their IPO without due diligence so perfect for a Trump related pump and dump.

You know, I'm honestly not sure what this means as far as favorites/winners in the GQP field. But I'd love to see an internal mud wrestling between Trump and ... whoever.
A lot of nice 2020 election stolen rhetoric and trump write-ins if DeSantis gets the nomination should sink the GOP ship in 2024.

The only hope for republicans in 24 is if trump decides not to run, I don’t think trump would allow himself to get beat in any of the first few primaries, it’d be too hard on his ego.

I had that very thought, that worst case for the Democrats (IMO) is that Trump up and dies. Then we'll hear Desantis and anyone else running paying homage to the great hero, they'll gain any hardcore Maga types as well as the rest of the Conservative cowards who never liked Trump but were glad he was on their team.

Don't get me wrong, another Trump Presidency would be awful but I don't think he can win unless the economy really tanks (and then anyone will be able to beat Biden.) Desantis beats Biden I think unless Trump can split off the hardcore right wingers. It doesn't help that Biden is ancient and not likely to look or sound any better in the next two years. I'm officially a senior now myself and there should be fricking age limits on candidates.

it would be easier for biden if trump wins the gop nomination for several reasons.
one of the minor ones is that trump cant claim biden is too old to run since trump is around the same age.

if deSanitizer wins, he will hammer the fact that Biden is OLD.
but dont know how much that plays into votes tho

An interesting, if (to me) barely comprehensible, read.

I don't understand this stuff at all, though. How is DWAC listed on the stock exchange if it doesn't yet actually produce or do anything? And why is there this loophole that makes all the "due diligence" stuff relating to listing on there kind-of irrelevant, as it can just be bypassed by using a shell company?

And how does Truth Social actually make any money? Advertising? How many companies want to advertise to such a limited demographic?

Tucker Carlson show is the highest rated on Fox.
I'm assuming whoever advertises there to close minded, easily manipulated sheep will advertise on truth social.

Money is money and you want mindless sheep to blindly buy your stuff for life.

Also, these advertisers must be envious of trump's ability to grift his followers out of $$$ over and over again

SPACs are basically exploiting a loophole, and needs new regulations to close it, which takes time:

I don't think "Truth" Social makes any money. IMO, the SPAC is the money maker by drawing investor money, that will be siphoned away to Trump and various associates in the form of high commissions, fees, etc...

Some point in the future it will implode as a business, with investors left holding the bag.

I have a feeling that Trump might scream fraud if he were to loose the primary.

Can you hear it. What? The cricket chorus of Republican leadership condemning the weekend meeting at Mar-a-Lago. Yea, cowards, every Fn one of them.

HOW can they condemn something they believe in? Agree with?
Folks.... WHO and WHAT do you think Donald Trump is, anyway? Is it not apparent?
He looks like a homophobe anti-semitic white supremacist racist, he asks like a homophobe anti-semitic white supremacist racist, and he surrounds himself with other homophobe anti-semitic white supremacist racist. I'd say that about sums it up....

To be fair Trump probably didn't know who was under the white hoods.
