Hmm! They will take your $10,000 deposit, but they don't tell you what the price is

Well after further reviewing the site and FAQ's, I found a blurb that said "Airframe deposits have been taken for 70 aircraft which reperesents $14mil in backlog orders" Doing the math $14mil/70=$200k each

Haven't they been coming out with these things for years? You still need an airstrip to take off and land.

Have they? I don't know.

I just know the other day I was talking about how they still hadn't made a car that can fly and someone directed me to that.

Flying cars have been around forever. The question is do you really want nut jobs flying around all over the place? Not to mention women can barely drive as is. Do you really want them talking on their cell phones while flying around in their car?

I would accept a ride on Professor Frink's flying motorcycle.

I think you need to take a ride in a time machine.

I love the idea, but the world really isn't ready for flying cars yet. I'm honestly not sure if it will ever be.

How many MPG does one of these get? I'm sure it's considerably less than even an SUV.

Are we going to leave it to people to try and navigate without colliding into other air cars? That sounds like a nightmare. Though, I guess it could be like GPS coordinated..

Then there's the whole issue of "you fuck up, you die".. at least there's a chance that you live in a terrestrial car crash.. lol. I guess we could equip them all with ejection seats.

The one good thing is that it would eliminate traffic jams... And you would be able to get to your destination much more quickly.

Running out of gas sure would be a bummer though.

From the bottom while flying, it looks like a mini A-10 Thunderbolt.

$200,000. Imagine how many commercial flights you could take for that, in addition to buying a Toyota Corolla.

If you charge your friends and family like 50 a flight + split cost of gas, you'll make it up pretty quickly.

I read about some flying car in wired a while back and they talked about one of older ones that didn't see commercial success. FAA issues.

Yeah, I've been reading articles from time to time on the next prototype flying car.

Until they are widely available on consumer market, I'm not going to buy into any hype.
As far as I care, this is just another airplane.

Going where, doing what? I can't think of anywhere I'd want to go in that thing twice per week for 10 years. I'd go up in it once or twice and say "well that was neat, thanks for that." It only has a top speed of 115MPH. Not like you'd be ferrying people hundreds of miles every week. If you were, this makes much more sense: http://www.lancair.com/Main/iv_ivp.html

Its called, needing a license. You learn all about this stuff, plus its not exactly like you can land this wherever you want. Airports are still the only place you can land this..

In person, this thing looks even more retarded than online

Yah, Id' rather fly a real plane. That is one of those contraptions that does a couple of different things very poorly.
It reminds me of this two wing pusher amphibious homebuilt that flew by the most generous definition of the word, and would splash water up on the propeller if you did not operate it just right. It loved runway, and it has a strange ability to stick to the water as well.
No thanks.
