It has to be me. Why can't I DL a W7 ISO in English?

I need to reload Windows 7 on my PC. I don't have recovery media with my used laptop and I want a clean install, so I am going to use an ISO direct from MS, from here:

...but after I validate my product key and am prompted to select a language, English is missing. What the heck?

If you need I can FTP you a Win7 ISO. Guaranteed not bootleg/hacked, I created it from my Win7 disc. Yes it works with OEM keys on laptops and such, Microsoft hasn't had an OEM vs Retail disc image since XP (they got rid of it starting with Vista).

Where did you get your product key from? Was it one of those fly by night online resellers that always seems to have digital software keys cheaper than everyone else?

If so, odds are they sold you a key from a non-US region (usually how they get these keys so cheap in the first place). Unless it's a microsoft database flub, that's the only reason the software download website would not be giving you US English as an option. You can call MS support to see exactly what's going on and confirm what version of Windows 7 your key is specifically for.

Support guy from India remoted into my PC(with permission) and started a direct download from a link he pasted, which was this.

Depending on which lookup tool I use, I'm getting results that say that IP address is registered either to Global Telecommunications in Moscow, Russia, or to RIPE NCC in Amsterdam, Netherlands...

The posted link has lots of goodies, from all versions of Windows... to all versions of Office. And it is running on Apache server... bit unlikely it is sanctioned by MS.

OP when one is not sure, the rule of life with phone and Internet is not to follow up whatsoever One Internet address or Phone number were "dished" to you.

One should find on his/her own the legal Phone of Microsoft Support (or whatever other entity is involved) and generate a call accordingly.

In case of legal installation of Win 7 this is the process.

Click the link to change your product key

Enter your product key and use Phone Activation to activate your license. Remember to explain to the call agent your situation".

If your key is illegal or and have specific stipulation the real Microsoft agent will tell you.
