Well, yesterday, I finally made it out to a hill. First time in two years.
All of my equipment finally arrived and I couldn't hold back....

I was scared at first. Considering, last time I was at this mountain I was taken away in an ambulance.
I even asked the person at front desk how much 1 on 1 lessons are. hehe.
I thought I'd have completely lost all ability, skill... etc. Nope. Just like riding a bike.

I had the best time I've had in years - doing anything. I fluked out and somehow met the Resort managers son. We hung out most the day... he just pushed me really hard and I was forced to develop quickly. I snowboarded better in that one day then I ever have before. Fassst and hard.

Anyone else out on the slopes much this year?

Whereabouts?

Damn east coast hills sucks.... but I'm at the highest peak in Ontario at least. (Calabogie Ontario)

Yes, and I learned everything just by learning it the hard way ... riding the lift and getting off at the top was a huge challenge.

At the end of the day, my ass sure hurt, but went back again. Then decided to see what a black diamond was ... bad news. Heelside breaking all the way down til it turned to intermediate.

Mammoth, Utah?

I thought it was Cali?

I'm not sore from bails... I maybe ate sh|t once, it was just from riding hard. I was good before I hurt myself... I'm just getting back on the horse

Damn you people and your nice mountains.

I've gone skiing countless times already this season. I had a friend from louisiana come and visit and I took him skiing. He turfed it hard and broke his neck in 3 places, and his back in 3 places. If I would have even touched him so his spine would move 1/4 of an inch he would have been paralized. (this happened at brighton, utah)

He just happened to fall the worst possible way. It was his first time and I was teaching him how. He got overconfident and rode to fast for his own good and just had the wreck to end all wrecks. He's doing great though and everything should be okay.

Fortunately this hasn't deterred me from the slopes in any way though.

Went to Tahoe a few weeks ago. It was snowing with below freezing temperatures and we went at night... so it hurt like hell. Still fun though since its super soft powder. Driving back down the mountain was painful in the snowstorm. Would do it again though.

Hasn't rained in Southern California for several weeks now. I'm not going to hit the slopes again unless it does...

I feel that. On my way back from Calabogie, it started to snow just as I pulled out the parking lot. I have a 190km drive one way, so it was terrible. I had to pull over on the side of the road because highway 7 (nortiously danngerous) was like a back road. 2-4 inches of snow.
I was really tired as welll, so I slept an hour on the side of the road.

Long story short, a 2 hour drive tunred into a 4.5 hour drive because it takes a long time @ 60kmph

Otherwise... best... day... evaar..

i've been up on the slopes about 5 times this year. I haven't been since the middle of december though, i went home for christmas. I'll be up there this weekend, or mabye friday if i can get anyone to go with me. I've got the colorado pass, covers 5 mountains, so i'm all good.

that sucks about the guy breaking his back, first time too....I bet he wont want to ski again. As for me, I am going to go buy a helment sometime soon, probably before I go this weekend, so I don't need to worry so much about hitting stuff, and can ski through trees a bit more safely. My parents are footing the bill on that one, so I have no complaints.

Went to Mt Snow about 3 weeks ago and took a nasty spill on my third trip down. Tried to get up and just fell down and decided to stare at the sky for awhile. Made it down to the bottom and went again. Realized that I must of pulled the groin and bruised a rib or two. The next week I was sore and haven't been back skiing yet. My friggin groin still hurts, even after stretching it out almost everyday and heat packs.

My next trip should be to Sunday River.

I went for my first time before Chirstmas. I went up to Northern Michigan (Boyne Mountain) with my friends from school. We had a lodge that was right on the slopes and each day we skied out and back in. It was a great time. By the third daY I was feeling pretty confident that I could handle most of the slopes. The first day was a different story though. On one fall I had to have tumbled at least 50 yards or so down a black. I was all good though, I am still here in one piece and I made it through the trip without any real injuries.

I have been to Grand Targhee quite a few times this year so far. I haven't been since last week though after suffering a concussion. I hit so hard I'm not even sure I can spell concussion anymore...

just got back from night riding at Wachusett, good conditions but a little crowded for so small a mountain. I've been up to Killington and Sunday River already this year though, IMO two of the best mountains in the east. Killington gets a big thumbs up though, it was better at Thanksgiving then Sunday River was in the middle of December.

i'm always up in big bear, snow summit to be exact... my parents have a place up there, and i have a season pass this year, so i'm going to be there a lot... that and my class schedule is tues, wed, thurs, leaving me with a 4 day weekend every weekend, so i'm going to get my money's worth! it's not the best but it's nice... on sat. nite i made 3 top to bottom runs in less than 30 min... that's the best part about night boarding... short lines...

I just went to Mountain High last Saturday in Southern Cali. My second time boarding, and it was pretty cool. I learned how to brake (don't know the term) turning my legs against the direction i was heading, but i couldn't tackle the frontwards braking. Either way, i still can't believe people hit the expert slopes! They're soooo steep :Q

The week before Christmas, I went to Heavenly at Lake Tahoe for a few days. Right when that storm hit Cali.

Best skiing I've ever done.
