This being my first laser printer, I'm no expert,but for my black and white documents it is fantastic.I like the envelope slot very much also.

With the outrageous cost of ink for ink-jets, (I only buy genuine, not after-market or refillable stuff) I think one of these will be much more economical for school use. I tend to generate quite a bit of text printing essays, reports, and such. As it is now, I refill my Canon ink at least 2x annually for the color inks, and 4X annually for the pigment-black for text.
I'd have less problem buying an off-brand laser toner cartridge than I would ink. My printer has chipped cartridges, and the off-brands tend not to work so well.
I'll be keeping my eyes open for another steal like this...
