That would make sense because the HP and CC rebates both require the original UPC sticker, and the text in the HP form (posted above) that says:

I again phoned the HP's rebate center at 888-385-5410 and spoke with CSR, Daniel, CSR #54554. He confirmed that this offer is valid from buy.com and ANY other store, other than Bestbuy or Office Max. For reference, this is the same thing that I was told by CSR, Paul -- CSR #3440 and CSR, Kevin, CSR -- CSR #53324.

Important to note -- This offer is HP Rebate offer S104. I have since found another HP rebate offer for the same amount that is NOT the same offer. The other offer does require buying the printer at a higher price. THIS ONE DOES NOT.
