Donald Trump isn't going anywhere. He still has a huge following of sympathetic "I don't support racism, I don't see color (...but I really do)" type folk who will defend anything he does.
I watched the Fox News clip earlier where the white host starts crying because someone disagreed with her interpretation of the "Good people on both sides (I'm paraphrasing)" thing. She felt like she was being attacked because she was defending Trump and immediately starts talking about how she's not racist and see's everyone the same. Funnily enough, her fellow host, who is a black woman, was the one that had to comfort her telling her that a lot of tears are being shed all over the country and that we should be having these talks about race relations.
I honestly have no clue where this Presidency is going, I don't really know what the history books say about this. We went from Obama, to this guy and I honestly feel...like, no BS, that race relations actually HAVE gotten worse. Not that crap people were saying when Obama was in office...but like for real worse. The amount of people who became comfortable enough to come out of the closet as Trump rose to power is amazing to me. Ive been seeing folks with Confederate flag decals on their car, actual Confederate flags on the car (whilst driving a Toyota pickup. lol), and there is one person in my mom's neighborhood with a Confederate flag on a pole in their front yard.
I live maybe 2 hours from Charlottesville so, I'm a bit detached from what is happening there. That probably wont be happening up here any time soon, I hope.
