User: my OWA is giving me an error

Me: What URL are you going to?

User: http://owa.*wrong_company_name*.com

Me: ok. you should be using https://owa.*company_name*.com

User: why am i getting an error for the other one?

Me: because that is the wrong address

User: but i was told to use it

Me: did you try the one i provided you?

User: no.. i was told to use the other one

Me: it is incorrect. please try the one i provided you

User: but i was told to use the other one

Me: well.. take that up with whoever gave you wrong info

user: so what should i do then

Me: use the one i gave you

User: but.. i was told i should use the other one

Me: i'm not sure what else to tell you then.. that address is giving you an error, because it is the wrong address. If you would go to the one i gave you, you would find that works.

user: so.. should i not use the other one?

Me: please try https://owa.*company_name*.com

User: hey.. it worked

Me: anything else i can help you with?

User: so... should i just not use the other one then?

Me: <slams phone against wall>

haha I don't miss those days. Love my new job so much more. However, I still am the tech support for my family.

actually kinda sounds like he was trolling you, haha

doubt it... he was a remote sales user.

We create the email accounts for the user and send the info to the user's manager. It's the manager's responsibility (or a local trainer) to train them how to access their email.

i blame his manager.

i'm not bitching. i'm educating the non-IT people on this forum.

Today's lesson: When you call and ask IT for help... listen to their advice. You called us for a reason. If you know better than we do... why bother to call?

currently work in an IT call center dealing with server admins. besides the ones that obviously have no business working on servers because they are completely clueless, i have to agree, this is the worst.

Maybe it's time to get out of Tech Support? If you've been in Tech Support for over 3 years, it may be too late for you - You may have already pidgeon holed your way in there for good.
