Well, I finally got my mobile Barton 2600 installed last night, and it's as awesome as I was hoping it would be. It's running at 12x208 at the moment (2496 mhz), which was Prime95 stable for 6 hours, and I'm only running it at 1.775v (1.744-1.760v actual, under load). What's crazy is that after running D²OL for about 3 hours in a 75°F house, it's only running at 37°C (98°F!) with the SLK-900a and 92mm Tornado fan. Well, I suppose that I just wanted to gloat a little. Either that or to let you guys who bought a mobile 2400 know that you just bought the wrong chip, so sell it and buy a XP-M 2600!

Or buy both! Nice O/C by the way...I got myself a 2400+ which I will TEC cool it to see how far I can push it.

*EDIT* Tried my M2400+...got it to 3200+ with 1.6v, up to 2400mhz with 1.675v, cooled with stock hsf from desktop barton...temp load at 45c, could do higher but I was using a 250w PSU, 12v rail was at 11.79-11.85v, cant raise vcore

Congrats! My XP-M 2600+ arrived today, and I hope to get 12.5 x 182 (my board maxes out at 182 FSB) at a reasonable voltage.

What kind of stepping did you get, myocardia? I got a AQYHA (week 46) from Newegg.

Let me look... Okay, here's the entire code: AXMG2600FQQ4C Y880371K30259 AQYHA0346XPMW. We obviously ordered about the same time, Blue, same week and same stepping. I'll tell you, I couldn't be happier with it, although I think I'm gonna spend another $20 on a rheobus! I thought this 92mm Tornado would be roughly as loud as the 80mm 6800 rpm fan I had on my CoolerMaster X-Dream, but it's about twice as loud! When I woke up from my nap, I thought a helicopter had landed in my bedroom.

Yep, the AQYHA0346XPMW is identical to mine. That's great, as I'll be thrilled with just 12.5 x 182.

Good to see you got a good chip. You deserve it as much help as you've given to the CPU/OC forum lately.

Thanks, man. You know that you'll have no problems at all doing 13.5x180-182, don't you? Well, assuming you have a decent heatsink. These chips aren't anywhere near as hard to cool as my XP2400 T-bred B was, it seems, and the heatsink I had on it I picked up on sale at Fry's for $9.99! With decent case airflow, this heatsink here: Speeze FalconRock does handle 2.4ghz. It's $11.99 + $4 shipping, and there are a few people around here using them to cool even OC'ed mobile Barton's.

Well, it's up and running at 12.5 x 182 = 2275mhz on 1.65v. I haven't had time to stress it yet, but it appears stable.

Myocardia:
How exactly do I access the multipliers above 12.5x on my Epox 8RDA board? I know cooling isn't an issue with TT SilentBoost, 80mm Panaflow L1A and 3 L1A's running as case fans.

[Edit] Nevermind...I saw your post about using the conductive paint instead of the wire.

Oh, your 8RDA won't let you go above 12.5x? My 8RDA3+ will let me access them all, from 5x-24x. Why don't you just bite the bullet, and get either an 8RDA3+ or an NF7-S, man? After you get through wiping your hard-drive or doing a Windows deltree, you won't be sorry!

I'm gonna be going now, so I can see what kind of fsb OC I can get out of this chip. I've got PC3700 ram, so I'm gonna see what this 8RDA3+ will do with a chip that can handle it. Before I could only get 219fsb, but that may very well have been chip-limited, instead of board-limited. See you guys later.

man, i have one but eh im such a newbie that it gets me pisses me off more than impress! cuz i cant seem to get my temperatures or stats anywhere near to what people have with the same or very similar stats. my mobile 2600 is at 11x220 with the vcore at 1.75 and vdimm at 3v and the same heatsink/fan and my temperatures are nowhere near yours, it runs at 52 degrees celsius when running prime95 :S i suppose i have to double check the heatsink and cpu contact.

Don't forget the Mobile XP2500... mine's a week 7, which may have a bit more headroom than your week 46's with the right cooling setup. With my new PSU I was able to run 2.4 Ghz on 1.65 volts. When I get home I'm going to try 2.5 Ghz on 1.75 volts... but I may just "settle" for 2.4 on 1.65

Wow, where have I been lately? A barton able to get 2500 at around 1.75v, nice and with those temps!!!! Hmmm, maybe I should get ridda my tbredb1700+ which is doing 2500mhz@1.75 and get a mobile 2600 +256k more cache and lower heat...... Dang, I gotta stay on top of this. Where did you buy the chip and are there certain steppings which are more OC'able? Thanks!

Jeff7181, I am also running my AXP2500M @ 2.4 w/1.65v (200x12). been rock solid except for the couple of times I have tried for 2.5+.

Thanks for the tip guys.

I got my mobile 2500+ yesterday and got it running late last night.

I ran 3dmark03 with my 9800 pro with the Athlon running 12.5 x 200 = 2.5GHz! Vcore = 1.75 Volts (probably turn that down, my other athlon didn't overclock any better at 1.75 versus 1.65)

I have a gigabyte 700n elcheapo mobo (don't remember the part number exactly). Its so cheap I have to set the multiplier on dip switches.

And I'm running a Thermal Take Silent Boost as my fan sink.

Temps were reasonable, 48-50c idle, and 55c or so running 3dmark. I'll burn it in tonight to see how hot it gets calculating PI.

I got it to run at 12 x 210 = 2520 but it reset while running 3dmark03. I was overclocking my 9800 pro as well, so who's to say what happened.

It makes complete sense that these parts run really fast, AMD is binning them to run at 1.8Ghz and 1.45 volts, which means they are fast corner parts.

And it makes sense the 2600+ parts would be faster because they run at 1.9 (or is it 2.0?) GHz.

This baby is obviously the best bang for the buck.

I think the mobile 2500's are good too. I'm running mine at 11.5x217 which is 2496MHz on 1.7 volts which is around 1.68v actual. I think that's a good OC

I'm running my XP-M 2500+ @ 2700MHz 13.5 x 200 1.9v air cooled with a Volcano 12. It'll run @ 2400MHz 12x200 at stock voltage. Gotta love the 2500's

My week 7 mobile 2500+ is prime stable at 2600MHz (13x200) at 1.8v.

It may have a little more speed left but not to sure about raising v-core.

Finally got a good overclocker !!

I wasn't saying that the older XP-M 2500's aren't any good, but then again, they aren't for sale anymore either. I was merely implying (should have just said outright) that the mobile 2600's seem to be the best money-for-your-overclock chips that newegg has for sale at the moment. If you got your mobile 2400 or mobile 2500 4-6 weeks ago, when the news first got out what they were capable of, you've got a good chip, so keep it. But, if you are still considering buying a mobile Barton, and you are looking for 2500mhz or more, you should definitely consider that extra $8 (over the price of the mobile 2500) as insurance that you will be able to get there.

edit: What I said in the OP about selling your mobile 2400 was meant for all of the people who have bought them in the last 2 or 3 weeks, and can't get them stable above ~2.3ghz.

Well, I didn't say so here, but I have enough case airflow to make a hovercraft jealous! I have 2 Antec 120mm fans (one intake, one exhaust), along with a high-flow 80mm side mounted intake, plus my Antec TruePower 480 has a 92mm intake, which functions as a 92mm case exhaust, since it intakes from inside the case. With exactly the same case setup, I was also able to run an XP2400 T-bred B (seemingly the hottest of the T-breds) at 10.5x212.5 with slightly higher voltage (1.80v actual), and it only got up to 45C while running Prime95, even though I only had a CoolerMaster X-Dream (80mm fan at 6800 rpm) cooling it.
