Because Iraq = Terrorism?

Any President would have rightfully attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan. No President in their right mind would lose all focus on the actual group involved and go into Iraq, except Bush Jr. of course.

Its pretty obvious that Bush hasn't done anything cumulatively positive about terrorism. Look at the latest State Dept. report (the revised one), terrorism increased rapidly in 2003.

I don't really find that outright lying. The main thing about Bush is that the Iraq war was founded on a few big things: a) Saddamn is a bad man, b) Saddamn poses a threat to the US ultimately, c) He has lots of WMD. a) true. b) debatable c) untrue. It's at the same time astonishing and frightening I think that the Bush administration conducted this war and receives so little flack for it, considering the noteworthiness of one of its key reasons for going to war has been proven to be rather baseless (and a few war heads found down the road won't make up for it).

The real sadness is that the US now has to elect between a man of conviction, strength, and incompetence, and a man who, well, looks like a penis.

He went to Congress for autorization for war, stating that there is a connection between 9/11 and Iraq...
And now he is backing off that claim, so he is backing off his reason to go to war...
So why did we go to war in a first place?
