It was a useless thread.

Edit:

I appreciate all the replies, but I came here looking for a solution to a specific group of flaggers, not soul searching, or questioning why am I being flagged, or anything else.

Some of you have provided good insight, and I appreciate the integrity and abiding by the rules expressed. I realize I made a mistake asking, as it is time consuming trying to justify my reasons with a crowd that has no answer, but rather more questions.

It was also evident that a few of you still have reading comprehension issues "you are pissing a lot of people, so they flag you" Wrong, as stated on the original post, it is only a little group of 3-4 "holy warriors".

As the thread grows, we are farther and farther from a solution, and we are diverging into more questions. No reason to keep it further. Thanks everyone again for reading it. It was entertaining. Move on, nothing to see here.

It sounds like you have an obnoxious ad with ***~~~***~!!!*** in the title and HTML on the inside. I'd flag you too.

I assume Cragislist checks through the flags instead of just indiscriminately taking them off. If your ads were legit, they would still be there.

You would be assuming wrong.

if # flags > x then post = flagged

Graiglist FAQ

"A: Aaaak!. My ad got flagged off! Wazzup with that??

Wazzup with it is your free classified ad annoyed enough of your fellow craigslist users to get it removed.

But first things first. Do a little attitude check. Go ahead, right now. How do you feel? Are you annoyed? Angry? Outraged? A bit bewildered?. Consider that having your free classified ad taken down is hardly a big deal. It's not like your dog came down with herpes or your (now) ex-roomie skipped on the phone bill AND scored your favorite Flaming Turds CD. It's just an ad. Cost you nothing but a bit of time. If you are getting a big emotional reaction over it stop reading right about now. You have emotional issues. You need a therapist, not a FAQ. The authors of this humble document cannot help you. You could post a flaming "suggestion" in the Feed Back Forum filled with passionate references to Flag Nazis, unfairness, censorship, Freedom of Speech, injustice, etc., etc. Many people do. Perhaps it makes them feel better. But nobody will care except for a few trolls who will be mildly amused at your distress. So get Help, really.

Onward..."

They do not. Flagged items are removed with no validation by Craigslist.

OP, don't bother with CL. Put an ad in the paper, instead.

Lol, oh the AT community never ceases to amaze me, and not usually in a positive way

My titles are like these:

Dual core Athlon 64 X2 4850e Gigabyte 320 GB HDD HDMI 20in monitor 2GB
Tell me what is wrong with that?

Post the content as well, word for word.

Seriously there's a reason you're getting flagged like that...

Ok, here is one:
http://flint.craigslist.org/sys/2910668640.html
This has been flagged twice today. You tell me why.
I didn't want to provide the specifics of the geographic area, but here it is.
Ad is quite sedated if you ask.

Here is another one of my ads in a different craigslist area. Curiously, in the larger metro area spam is rampant. You can see ads by the same guy for the same item every half hour.
This is my preferred setup.
http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/sys/2909553678.html

Want to flag? Go ahead, just tell me why.
Or, flag for "best of CL"

They come across as a bit too "retail". I would post them as if you're a single person selling a few things.

Also, if you repost them daily them people who look at that section regularly will ALWAYS flag you. No need to post a new add every 12 hours.

Maybe you as a seller on CL post 50 lines of tags showing different computer names, parts etc.?

I will always mark as spam a listing especially in "Auto parts" or "Cars for Sale" that show me a full page worth of useless tags to get my attention. That really pisses me off.

For example, I am looking for a John Deer tractor part and I am getting a few thousand CL hits listing Toyota or Honda Japanese recycled engines. WTF!?

Update: disregard, I saw your listings, look ok.

It is not only me. Everyone not offering junk covered in dust is getting flagged.
I already posted links to my ads, feel free to check them.
I am sure you belong to those trying to preserve the purity of craigslist...

Waste of time.

People here flag CL stuff all the time, with no apparent reason. A friend of mine had several of his ads flagged and removed, until we added a bit at the bottom about him being a disabled American veteran - suddenly, they stopped disappearing.

CL won't do jack, so stop using CL.

So why the F do you post in here for help?

Because the help I need is technical. I already know who the flaggers are, the help I need is as far as "special content to be delivered". You didn't read the first paragraph in the OP. You should have.

Funny, if I were a troll looking to upset some people, that would only provide me further impetus to flag his stuff. I conclude that he was either doing something wrong and people gave him pity with that added, or that there are a lot of disabled American veterans trolling Craigslist who still protect their own.

It's also illegal. While these flaggers are certainly asshats, they aren't breaking any laws. Your desire to retaliate is understandable, but your means can't be justified in any way.

Try putting your ads in "Computers - By Dealer". Your ads sure look like a dealer/reseller to me... I'm pretty sure that's why they are being flagged.

Also, as someone else mentioned, you're probably reposting too often, which makes you look even less like a regular private seller.

Why don't you go to the flag help forum? What the hell do you expect people here to do?

If you are posting a lot of stuff you need to post as a dealer. If you are spamming the site you get flags. If you are posting to multiple cities you get flags. And one or two people can't bring down your ad no matter how many times they flag it. You have to be annoying many people.

Those go down as fast, if not faster
A fellow seller tried that approach. Makes no difference.
I have tried the approach also. Same results.
