Why don't you go to the flag help forum. What the hell do you expect people here to do?

If you are posting a lot of stuff you need to post as a dealer. If you are spamming the site you get flags. If you are posting to multiple cities you get flags. And one or two people can't bring done your ad no matter how many times they flag it. You have to be annoying many people.

You didn't read the OP either. Posting as a dealer makes no difference. I am NOT here to give or receive a lecture about what is allowed or not on craigslist, or why should or shouldn't my ads be flagged, or how good they sound or they don't. Every single posting approach has flaw: "too retail" but if you don't you sound "unprofessional". "Too many pictures", but if you don't, how do I know the item is what you say it is?

Regardless of what you post, and how you post, someone will find a reason to flag them. Your reply is typical for someone who has an opinion without knowledge. Do you sell on CL? Have you tried the flagging forums? Everyone will parrot the line "98% of the flagged items are violating the terms... blah blah blah"

It's also illegal. While these flaggers are certainly asshats, they aren't breaking any laws. Your desire to retaliate is understandable, but your means can't be justified in any way.

Six, I really like your integrity. Yes, what I asked is not right, but remember, what is right is not always the solution, and the solution isn't always right

But your solution could prove to be much more damaging to you than to these obnoxious flaggers. Is it really worth risking arrest, jail time, fines?

Also, as someone else mentioned, you're probably reposting too often, which makes you look even less like a regular private seller.

Curiously, I am quite respectful of the "48hrs before renewing"... if the ad survives
If an ad gets flagged, what should be the reposting time? As soon as you see it go down.

Guys and gals, please understand. It is not only me. Every single person selling in that geographic area not offering a P4 machine covered in dust WILL get flagged.

You are trying to find a logical cause. There is not. These are holy warriors. what you do and how you do it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

Ok doing a search with your given CL posts, it is OBVIOUS that you are a dealer/retailer spamming CL.

I would flag all of your ads too if I looked at those categories on a daily basis. You are reposting the exact same ad at least once per day, all with stupid blue font and sizing weirdness.

And your ads are... I dunno man, I'm not sure if we can even give you enough advice.

"
If your drive is not new sealed, I need a crystaldiskinfo screenshot. Just a "works fine" is not enough, I need to see the s.m.a.r.t. info. I just got a few WD blacks (nicely priced, no complaint) from a guy who knows his stuff, and even someone as knowledgeable as him didn't even notice 2 drives were throwing smart codes. If you are familiar with crystaldiskinfo, you already know where I am going by asking the screenshot. If you have no clue about smart or crystaldiskinfo, your drive goes to the back of the queue unless the price is irresistible (it is a gamble after all). Older designs (250GB/platter or lower) also go to the back of the queue. Price to be negotiated based on the screenshot info
And talking about price, guys, get real. Hard drives got expensive, but $40 for a USED 80GB IDE is totally out of touch with reality. I it was the great price on the hot item you tried to make it sound, it would be gone by now. The $12 I offered for a drive like that was fair, in fact, probably a loss of $12 in my part as I would have a much harder time fitting an IDE drive in a newer build.
Interested? Give me a call (586 -- xxx - xxxx) send me a text or send me an email"

If you can spare some more money, I would wholeheartedly recommend my quad core builds, like the one with an AMD FX 4100 with integrated video ($390 tower only, $490 package) Sorry, I am out of the $350 configuration"

There is a guy (on my local CL) who promises to get their "clients" a very good deal at the car auctions ... for a fee. The guy is flagged all the time and for some bizarre reason CL allows him to post and then (for some reason) delete his postings so that at least the title survives the flaggers. The guy blames his "competitors" for his postings being flagged. This may have been true in the beginning but now MANY people would LOVE to flag this guy because he is so obnoxious.

The reason people flag CL listings is as varied as the stars in the sky. It could all come down to the fact that you posted in the first place. Try not to take it personally. Some people swear by CL. I have found that it is good when you are a buyer but too much of a PITA when a seller. Free is not a good enough reason to use a service ...

Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bits: Windows installed, activated, and yes, you get updates! Fresh clean install, drivers only. You install what you want after that. Sorry, unlike my other machines, I don't include OS media on my cheaper builds and I don't provide restoration DVDs either.

I'm curious about this. Are you actually providing a licensed copy of Windows with product key? Or is there something else going on here?

You should also call the Microsoft anti-piracy hotline at (800) RU-LEGIT, e-mail Microsoft at piracy@microsoft.com or contact the Business Software Alliance (BSA) anti-piracy hotline at (888) NO-PIRACY to report your concerns.

What does Microsoft do to follow-up on the leads I provide?
Every lead is processed with the legal department and Microsoft's actions can take many forms, from a warning letter to criminal prosecution.

Craigslist is being taken over by small gangs of 'small hole in the wall' shops that flag anything that interferes with their overpriced bottom line.

Try putting your ads in "Computers - By Dealer". Your ads sure look like a dealer/reseller to me... I'm pretty sure that's why they are being flagged.

Also, as someone else mentioned, you're probably reposting too often, which makes you look even less like a regular private seller.

or, take bad pictures, fill the case with dust, make the wires into a rat's nest, use many spelling errors, etc.

The way I read the ad is that you're a system builder then sell them for a profit, if any. As mentioned earlier, are the Windows 7 that's installed licensed OEMs?

Probably flagged because this comment in your ad.

I don't include OS media on my cheaper builds and I don't provide restoration DVDs either.

What support from Microsoft do they actually get?

That "stupid blue font" is my differentiation. It is in all my ads. People who don't read the content and only see the "stupid blue font" *cough* think it is the same ad. I have only one ad per item per 48 hours. More than one per 48 hours with the same "stupid blue font"? Oh yes, more than one, but none for the same item. Search again.

As far as the wording of the ads, all my ads for items for sale are professional. My ad looking for hard drives? Well, that had to be blunt. $35 for a 80GB IDE drive is not a deal.

So you would flag me? I knew since your first response that you would be one of he "holy warriors". If those "regulars" are not someone who need a machine, why are they clicking on my ads to see my "stupid blue font"? Move to the next ad to find what they need. If I was posting the same item every 2 hours, hey, why do I complain? But one item every 48 hours is what you are allowed, and that is what I am doing. I might have several ads at the same time, but only one for the same item.

Good catch.
But as you guys know (hot deals forum), there are a lot of ways to get LEGIT licenses at a great price, so they are, YES, legit (COA and key)

Edit:
On the other hand, that is something where I always felt at a disadvantage. Craigslist buyers don't give a crap about genuine... it is all about price.

What support from microsoft do you get in your laptop for windows?
Answer: NONE.

OEM licenses mean no obligation by microsoft to provide OS support. Support comes from the OEM. One of the reason why OEM licenses are so much cheaper than retail. Big OEMs don't provide OS media...

...if you're trying to consider yourself an OEM, then you can guess why your posts are being flagged.

or, take bad pictures, fill the case with dust, make the wires into a rat's nest, use many spelling errors, etc.

Doesn't work either.
The only ads that survive are those "great computer, super fast, works great, call Alex"

Problem is, they don't generate sales. And an ad that doesn't generate sales is a useless ad, no matter if it doesn't flagged.

As I wrote on the OP, I appreciate all the replies, but I came here looking for a solution to a specific group of flaggers, not soul searching, or questioning why am I being flagged, or anything else.

Some of you have provided good insight, and I appreciate the integrity and abiding by the rules expressed. I realize I made a mistake asking, as it is time consuming trying to justify my reasons with a crowd that has no answer, but rather more questions.

It was also evident that a few of you still have reading comprehension issues "you are pissing a lot of people, so they flag you" Wrong, as stated on the original post, it is only a little group of 3-4 "holy warriors".

As the thread grows, we are farther and farther from a solution, and we are diverging into more questions. No reason to keep it further. Thanks everyone again for reading it. It was entertaining. Move on, nothing to see here.

Never had anything flagged on CL, but I do find CL infurating in other ways. I'd say that >90% of my dealings on CL are pointless due to flakes (both buyers and sellers) or crazies/scammers/extreme cheapskates.

CL is hardly worth the annoyance.

I can't imagine trying to run any sort of profitable business through CL.
