I would get rid of it and get an iPod Touch, not some cheap knockoff called an Itouch.
Yeah, I don't know why people keep falling for the cheap Chinese knockoffs.
I think it is you whose sarcasm meter is broken; my sarcasm was made quite apparent by the set of rolling eyes. You need to have your sarcasm meter checked, it's broken.
64GB is a "behemoth?" I've got almost that in music. So I guess, my music? Now if they released a 256GB iPhone/Touch, NOW we are talking. Music AND movies on the go.
I only say behemoth because thats the biggest size they carry. If they had a 256gb Ipod *ahem* Touch, I'd be all over it like fat kid chasing a hostess twinkie. I wish they could cram more space into it, it would be the ultimate PMP for me.
I'm sure we'll get there....eventually.
Well, I think that 64GB NAND chips are finally available (supposition based on the fact that the SSD Stick in the MBA only has 4 NAND chips and comes in capacities up to 256GB), but probably not in sufficient quantities to offer them in the iPod Touch (which takes 2 NAND chips) or the iPhone (which uses 1). So, the next bump is to 128GB, almost certainly next year, but who knows when 128GB NAND chips will drop.
Dual core / 128GB+ iPhone would be awesome.
Check back in at least 2 years I think.
If you were to own an Itouch 64gb behemoth, what apps, music, videos would you load on to it?
i have one.
and it's about 80% filled with anime.
then about 4 gigs of music, 3-4 gigs of apps.
i watch anime while working out. is nice. only a few odd looks from old ladies who look over my shoulder.
Ditto. Though I used to use AirVideo a LOT to save space since it could stream flawlessly over 3g. Since I swtiched to Sprint and Android, I'm sorely missing a good, streaming/live transcoding solution that outputs high quality like AirVideo. In the meantime, if I'm going to be using my former iPhone or old 2g iPod Touch, I've loaded up a bit more on local video unless I know I'm going to have wifi for streaming.
in anime alone i have 280 hours stored on the ipod.
i can't imagine needing to stream from an external source.
If it could play uncompressed .VOB files on it, I would use the space for that. Well, on thr 64gb iPad anyway. Apple is too cheap/stupid to offer MPEG-2 support though.
Okay, that's one person that wants 15 year old low quality video on their devices.
Anybody else?
If his DVD collection is backed up as uncompressed VOBs (instead of just ISOs) then it makes sense. And on the 1024*768 display of the iPad, it isn't like you are needing 1080p quality.
