idk.... I was having guild drama last week so I decided that I'd take some time off.

I kinda want to log-in and raid and feel guilty for not playing; I don't know how much of that is actual desire to play versus addiction, though it's not like I'm doing anything more productive with my time (spent the night neffing, chatting on facebook, and catching up on my netflix)

word of advice. GTF(Outside) and see the wonders of the world like the Sun.

I think he lives in the continental US, so the sun doesn't tend to be up at night...

Agreed. Played on a friend's account, got bored really quick, logged out, never touched it again. I don't know why people enjoy the game. It's not even a game. I pretty much hate any "game" that involves grinding in any capacity. To me, that's work, not a game.

On top of all that, I don't like the Warcraft universe or any D&D style fantasy settings at all, really. I'm more into futuristic space stuff or just realistic/historical settings for games. I can't think of the last medieval-style fantasy game I enjoyed.

I tried wow once and just couldn't get into it. It's so boring and repetitive. All the missions that I played were exactly the same. Kill X and collect Y number of Z item, then return to this yellow dot.. BORING!! I don't mind EXP grinding in an RPG like final fantasy where there's a decent story to follow along and awesome cut-scenes to watch every once in a while, but with wow you don't even get that. You just get endless walking..

i didnt think so i thought it was pretty cool to do quest that takes you to ther parts of the world or zone when i had my first toon. i didnt know what to expect, the beast changed along with the landscape and music... my first toon was a dwarf and i think the dwarf starting area is awesome.

I used to play three years ago. I stopped playing because of boredom, I just couldn't stand leveling anymore (why? I hate raiding and the PVP sucks).

I think Anarchy Online absolutely destroyed my endurance for grinding.

I don't think you played it right. Grinding is optional. There's 1000's of storylines you can choose to follow, but the teamwork aspect of the really big battles is about the most fun that can be had in a video game. Each player has abilities to bring to the table, and they must be used in unison with the group. Very cool, and a great way to spend an evening with a Ventrillo server, some beer, and some friends.
