It's a dumb question I guess.. but I wonder: How do you keep the back of your dress shirt wrinkle free?

I'm finally starting work tomorrow, and I'm going to be in the office as well out driving a lot!! I always have that problem where the back of my dress shirt (it's business casual dress code) is always wrinkled up... you know w the horizontal wrinkle lines.

I figure it looks really unprofessional!! Is the only way for me to sit completely upright when driving? Is there any secret or way I can adjust my shirt when leaning back to make it not wrinkle??

Thanks!

The only thing that occurs to me is to use lots of starch when ironing. Good luck with your first day!

I am guessing that (once again) I have been left out of the loop?

This place reminds me a lot of my life, I never know wtf is going on and am always the last to know anything.

I think the only way to wear a suit. Dress shirts weren't originally designed to be worn by themselves.

Starch actually hurts because when the wrinkles set in they are more firmly wrinkled. The only way to keep the back from wrinkiling is to pull the Seinfeld trouser trick but with your shirt.

They look best if you have them laundered.
Anyway, you don't really want them wrinkle free like they are a polyester blend.
The wrinkles look natural, like you have some taste.
No wrinkles just anounces to the world you are wearing polyester and have no idea how bad it looks.

you could hang it up in your car and put it on in the parking lot if you REALLY want it to stay wrinkle-free

No starch. Don't wear all-cotton shirts, no linen, go for a quality no-iron blend. Oxford cloth is better than flat, and a slight pattern is better than a solid.

Whatever you do, don't wear your suit jacket while driving - hang it up and then put it on over the wrinkled shirt, and if necessary, retie your tie.

It's important to get a properly fitted shirt. Go to a mens suit store and get measured, then buy an overpriced shirt or two from them. Then you know your exact measurements and can go to Walmart to stock up.

Wrinkles can be caused by too much slack on the shirt tail. I thought I wore a 17 1/2 all these years when it turned out all I needed was a 17 tall or a 17 athletic. Wear a T-shirt too...that helps (plus nobody wants to see your man-boobs through the shirt).

Heavy Starch helps a lot. Add a sportcoat for the ultimate solution.

Good man. A properly sized shirt makes all the difference.
