Filled out a brief questionnaire before a work place sponsored training for some of our team. One line required your name. Another required line asked this:

How likely are you to leave your job in the next year:
Very likely
Likely

I wonder if anyone picked 'Very likely'

We get "confidential" surveys like that annually. "Your name will not appear on your responses." What will appear is your job title and location. Most of our offices have no redundancy in job titles.

I was young, naive and just out of college when my big company employer asked me to complete a confidential questionnaire about the workplace and the company. Within minutes of my completing it, my manager and his manager knew what my responses were. Never believe that anything is confidential.

We used to always joke about this at work when they send the "Rate your manager" questionnaire. It says it's confidential yet it asks for your name not to mention the email has a unique URL so it's linked to you. I actually like my manager so I did not care, but I still feel these should actually be confidential.

I always answer those questions fearlessly. I like my place of work quite a bit. I'm not afraid to tell them if I think there is a problem or something could be done better.
