I thought this story was ridiculous.
http://theweek.com/articles/597755/how-michigan-literally-poisoned-entire-city-save-few-flint water

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2016/01/07/flint-water/78404218/

Thank God for people like this guy:

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2016/01...goes-door-to-door-with-bottled-water-filters/

Btw, this sherrif is doing this on his own initiative with the help of volunteers.

Here is another upstanding citizen:

And how long has this been going on?

Completely ridiculous!

Perfect example of old idiots bending over backwards to save a dime, and wasting dollars. I say old idiots, because from my experience this mentality mostly resides within the elderly. We got to get these old corrupt bastards out of office.

Selling people drinking water that is so bad that General Motors stops using it because it's corroding their machinery?

It's the Republican way to save money!

There are plenty of people of all ages who will do anything for a buck.

True, but not everyone is corrupt. Some are just senile old fools that believe in a huge load of bullshit. This too affects all generations, but from my experience it's far more prominent within the elderly.

Clean water is an imperative that, when compromised, should see the men responsible condemned.

You are exhibiting a prejudice known as "ageism".

I'd agree but how long should it take to get fucking fixed?

What's going to happen is that there will be a class Acton lawsuit against the city or state which will only help put the state into even more debt which will have to be paid by the people.

I do hope those that are involved are dealt with but I doubt it.

Honestly think of the lawsuits lead can take years to show damage in children, its known small amounts of exposure to kids can impact intelligence and I believe its diagnosis is pretty vague.

NBC has an article up that says there are emails proving the governor knew of the lead issue six months before he declared the emergency. They could have still treated the water from the river to remove the lead but it would have cost too much for the city of 100,000. How much?

Marc Edwards, a professor at Virginia Tech who has been testing Flint water, says treatment could have corrected much of the problem early on — for as little as $100 a day — but officials in the city of 100,000 people didn't take action.
That's right, $100 a day to detox the water of lead was too much for Republicans to pay, they preferred to knowingly poison the people to save a $100 a day.

A penny a day for 10 people was too much for Republican governor Rick Snyder.

So, governor Snyder is an official in the city of Flint? Read what you quoted and then direct your ire at the right people. The Republican hate when justified is fine, when you can't understand what you're reading, it's not.

It's sad that I have to be the one to educate you since you like to open your mouth and insert both of your feet into it regularly, but the governor took over the government of Flint and he is responsible for what happened there. Learn something about the subject before you open your mouth.

It's better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

This is what happens when republicans usurp democracy. Anti-government, anti-epa, anti-regulation republicans overthrow a city government and appoint their own dictatorial "city manager" who makes decisions like this.

This is another example of the myriad of reasons of why you should never vote for any republican for any office. Not even for dog catcher!

I suppose the state could had just let the cities completely collapse. That should really help keep local services running.

Eight months of the year I live 20 miles from Flint. I know far, far more about this situation than you know. If you really want to learn something, research the timeline and the reasons behind how all this transpired. There is plenty of blame to go around. But you need to go way back to 2002 when the problems in Flint first came to prominence.

But I get it. This hits on a whole lot of leftist sore spots and causes. The fall of a city under overwhelming Democrat control for ages, water, an emergency manager (that's the huge one for you guys) and a Republican governor. It's just easier to go through life dumb and lazy, bashing Republicans for every single problem that comes up. I expect no less from you and you have not disappointed me.

Do you bash private individuals that go bankrupt and then have the courts decide their fate? I know that emergency managers are a hot button issue for you guys but when a city has proven over and over for years that they are unable to manage their own finances, somebody has to step in.

We have a number of large cities in the nation that are insolvent or on the brink of insolvency. Somebody has to be the grownup and straighten out the mess while ignoring the bleating cries of the idiots that got the city into the mess in the first place.

Try to act and think like an adult. It will serve you well in life.

So instead of the city collapsing it's better to poison the citizens just to make sure that the bondholders get their extra $100 a day?

That's what we get when banks/investors can use the state government as their debt collector.

Don't even try to give me a history lesson. Talk about diversion...lol! I am fully aware of the history behind Flint (I happen to be a motorhead) and history has nothing to do with what Snyder allowed to happen under his watch. There has already been one resignation from his cabinet over this clusterfuck and his head is on the platter too. As the old saying goes, if you break it, you bought it. Snyder took control of the city, put his people in charge and what happened on his watch is his (and their) responsibility. The buck literally stops at his office. The history you are bringing up has no relevance to this incident. This was a bad decision that has led to many people being poisoned on his watch so stop defending him.

I have no problem reading and comprehending what I have read, you do. Keep blaming me for your problems though, I know it's the conservative way. It's always the fault of dumb liberals and I ain't a damned liberal. I am a registered small "i" independent and I'm sick and tired of stupid conservatives who can't accept responsibility for their actions. The Democrats have their own problems but they pale in comparison to what has happened to the Republican party. I used to vote for whichever one was the best candidate but it's been years since I've been able to bring myself to vote for a Republican.

They're that fucked up. Stop enabling them.

Flint is a fine example of what the entire country will become once the socialists and globalists have driven out all the wealth. Every step of the way they will be blaming somebody else. Flint is broke. Flint is broke because the money was driven out and the welfare moms moved in. And they just couldnt grab enough of other people's money to maintain their infrastructure. It is easy to say "they should have done this" or "they should have done that" but who is going to pay for it? Who with actual money has a dog in that fight? Anyone with a dog in the fight had already left long ago...
