Got mine yesterday. Replaced a Dell 2005FPW. Looks good, no artifacts, no lines, no bad pixels. Running off a 7900GS that also has a 17" analog LCD hooked up. No issues with anything but the size, had to rearrange my desk to fit the other monitor. It's mounted to a dual LCD arm and the space between the 24" and the Dell(on a different system) is very tight. Also, after running for about an hour and heating up it started to smell like marijuana. Obviously not, but whatever was leftover from manufacturing was definitely venting out the back.

I've had this monitor for a bit over a week now. I was experiencing the flashing green pixel artifacting after a resolution change, and occasionally coming out of sleep or when first powering on. From what I can tell it was a problem with either my video board, or driver - I upgraded this morning (X850XT to a 7950GT), and the problem seems to have completely vanished. Previously I was able to consistently reproduce the artifacting by entering and exiting full screen visualization in Winamp, but after swapping out video boards it's been picture perfect no matter what I've tried.

Periodically, a pixel turns white for a split second before reverting back to a normal image. I thought I was being paranoid at first, but I literally stared at the screen doing absolutely nothing for a minute and on more than one occasion, I definitely saw a tiny pixel change to white for a very quick moment. Every time it happens, it seems to be only one pixel, and it doesn't happen at regular intervals (I would say anything from 5-25 seconds). Now I'm concerned as to whether or not I should return the monitor. After hearing about how some people are having wonky pixel problems in certain situations, I'm not so sure I can rest so easily at night. So far I've heard of: 1.) Crazy green pixels in dark areas of movies, 2.) Black horizontal lines crossing the screen, and 3.) Flickering Pixels. I suppose I'll have to play around with this for a week or two, and if things deteriorate, then I'll exchange it for another unit at Office Max.

sounds like the overdrive is failing on a pixel.

mine seems fine, i haven't spent a lot of time scrutinizing it tho. But the screen does emit a lot more heat than any TN panel I've seen.

This is a crazy deal- I'm very tempted to pick this up! I'm just trying to decide if I should pick this up or wait until thanksgiving for more deals. I'm kind of holding out for one that has an adjustable stand since my desk can't accomodate one of those lcd arms.

This thing is awesome for the price! Still loving mine with no problems at all, and way better than my previous 22" TN!

Wow...again? And so soon! My first panel was not a very good experience: got someone elses return (panel was not wrapped, 1 dead pixel, had finger smudges, occasional buzzing, pixel "anomolies" in which I have a thread about). Got an exchange around a week after the discount, and the replacement, for one, was brand new. Also none of the issues with the first one and working great. I just hope these subsequent sales aren't just OM trying to get rid of their returned panels.

Anybody have their UPC off the box handy? My digital input is not working and I will probably have to RMA it... I went to fillout the product reg and the box had mysteriously found it's way to the trash...

love that efficiency.. most of the time...

Alright looks like the deal starts again tomorrow 9/23/2007......does anybody know of any good web coupons or phone order coupons?

My friend wants to order one after seeing mine, I ordered my Soyo 24" last time this deal came up and so far I love it. When I ordered it before I used a phone only coupon which took like $30 off....

So anybody have any phone or web coupon codes?

I just looked at tomorrow's OM ad. Don't see the 24" monitor. There's a 17" Soyo for $139.99 and a 19" for $159.99. I'm going to run by and see if it's an unadvertised special

This was the upstate NY ad for 9/23-9/29

I purchased this monitor two weeks ago and I've been rather concerned with its quality so far:

I've been having the flashing, or "sparkling," pixel issue. Periodically, even on still screens, a pixel will suddenly flicker white, green, or some other random color for a split second. It's very quick, but it's also noticeable. It happened on and off for two weeks and I exchanged it today for another monitor. This monitor does the same thing. Atop of that, there is also a "buzzing" sound coming from the monitor whenever it's on. I would say the buzzing sounds almost like a small fluorescent light. I'm thinking about taking it back again to get rid of the buzzing, but I'm now concerned as to whether or not the flickering pixels going to be just a normal shortcoming of the monitor.

The screen itself looks beautiful. The viewing angles and colors look good. However, I'm not sure about its quality.

Never had the buzzing issue but I first had the flickering issue in games but resolved it after downloading the latest geforce drivers.

RossMAN: OM return policy, as stated on the receipt for electronics, is 14 days. However, when I spoke to one of the managers at my local OM, he basically said all managers will give the green light for electronics returned later than 14 days. When I exchanged mine, it was on the 14th day. I asked him to put on the receipt the date it was exchanged so that I'd get another 14 day period, which was when he told me it wasn't really necessary. I asked him to write it anyway just in case. I don't have any actual experience trying to exchange an electronic item over 14 days however...so I guess its YMMV?

After returning two during the last sale due to quality issues I am reluctant to try again. It seems like a small number of people are having the sparkle problem so it does not appear to be widespread. My concern is that even though it has a high quality panel they may be using low quality electronics (guts) to drive it. This would explain the low cost. Heh, I may give it another shot and purchase the extended warranty.

I hope they don't try to resell the returns. I put a print of a screenshot with the sparkles in the plastic bag of my last return in case they resell it so the buyer will know it has a problem and was a return.

I bought this 3 weeks ago or so and haven't had any issues. It does seem a good bit warmer than the 1905fp it was to replace, but not so much as to be considered a problem. I wound up doing dual monitors with the 1905fp and the difference in brightness of the two monitors is dramatic. Whites are MUCH more dramatic on the Soyo. So much so that I've fiddled with the older Dell a lot trying to make it look better. I'm using Viper GTS' settings from earlier in this thread and it looks darn good. DVDs play beautifully through a Radeon 1600 Pro 512 by Sapphire. I'm not much of a gamer but I let my son install and try Oblivion through it and he fell immediately in love with the thing. So far so good. A friend and I bought two, had to go to another town nearby to get them and the OM manager was nice enough to allow us to debox them in-store and test them for obvious problems before checking out. Here's hoping they stand the test of time.

I've used two of these with an 8800GTS and the latest drivers, and had zero problems. I think those with sparkling/pixel-flashing problems have been using older cards/drivers. FWIW...

I simply could not resist this deal another time. It is an amazing monitor for the price. 24" is huge, the panel is extremely bright and vivid, and there is no motion blur that I can detect. Wow.... no artifacts either. And... no dead pixels.
