I've done at least 10-15 Antec rebates over the years.

I've never failed to receive any of ny Antec rebates that I sent in. They take awhile (10-12) weeks, but they always come.

It depends on the rebate house that they use. I think Antec now processes their rebates internally because they did have some fiasco a few years back with the rebate house they used. Problem with them is it hasn't sped things up.

Others seem to get the rebates out in 4-6 weeks. I just received my two Tiger Direct rebates for 2 - SSDs in a little over three weeks. Tiger actually is pretty fast compared to others. Another company that uses a fast rebate house is PNY/Polaroid. Usually 3-4 weeks and you get it.

The rebate isn't through Antec. It's a $20 Newegg Visa Prepaid card and the rebate is through Newegg. So i wouldn't have any problem trusting them, at least if you didn't get it, they'd have your order history and have good customer service.

Exactly. They are trying to dissuade you from applying, even as they offer a rebate. Saves them some money.

Bought one as a spare. Reputedly made by Seasonic. I've never had problems with Antec rebates, and with this one though Newegg, it should be a slam dunk.

Like I said in the other thread: this is easily the best PSU for $30.

Rebates are a borderline scam IMO. Most of them are designed to be bothersome, complicated and full of rules that if not followed to the letter, they'll deny your request. And companies know that consumers will often buy a rebated item but pass on the regular price, they do increase sales. The hope is that you'll forget about it or just give up or get discouraged by the long wait times, which many do and I'm sure companies have statistics on the expected percentage of those who give up or fail to meet the requirements so they can be denied.

That said I've only ever had issues with two companies, one being Sandisk who gave me such a hard time about a rebated memory card that I'll never buy another Sandisk product again. In the end they capitulated but only because I can be a bigger a-hole than they can when it comes to my money. The 2nd was Menards. I made a mistake by not reading all the troublesome fine print on the proper steps to follow.

I don't do rebates anymore though. Not worth the effort.

Good deal though for an AR price.

If it's not already a good deal before the rebate then rebates actually deter me from a sale, like this one unfortunately. If it was $5 or even $10, I would have still bit, but not 40% of the total. Just too many negative experiences.

It only takes like 5 min to properly fill out a rebate form. The majority of those who are most vocal about companies not honoring the rebates don't do them properly. Come on, I suck at paperwork, yet I can figure out a rebate form and have gotten every rebate except for one that I've sent in, easily over a couple hundred dollars worth by now. Asus, Antec, Corsair, Gigabyte, MSI, XFX... the list goes on. Just follow directions to the letter. I also always circle the item on the copy of the invoice if it was purchased along with other items.

I still normally don't budget for a rebate to go through, just in case.

Just had my Antec 620C rebate denied. Followed all the instructions. Will re-submit and go through their painful appeal process.

Strange, they switched the rebate from a $20 one to a $10 one today. So $39.99 now instead of $29.99. I printed out the $20 one a few days ago (though I didn't order yet), and it says it's good until the 31st. The $10 one looks like a direct from Antec rebate rather than Newegg one, good from 1/29-3/1.

Hmm, if one orders now, can you still get the $20 Newegg rebate? I suppose they should honor it considering their form says its good until the 31st.

If you do a search in Newegg's rebate center, you will find the $20.00 rebate, I noticed this yesterday myself.
