Nice review Jrez...

To others: These speakers were a steal at $30 a couple of months ago, and they are still a steal at $50...!

IMHO, they blow the doors off any Logitech speakers in terms of sound quality. Yes, even the 680s. No 5.1, but 5.1 just isn't important to a lot of us (myself included) when listening at the the PC. If you have to have 5.1, you need to look elsewhere. But if your main criteria are sound quality and price, look no further.

i just bought these suckers and i dont see how people can say they blow the doors off the logitechs. comparable yes, blows the doors no. better price to performance ratio yes if you bought 2 evs for 4.1 setup. otherwise sound wise i would say they are comparable

well as far as clarity at normal pc listening levels go in a house with 6 people where loud noises aren't tolerated kindly, I'd say the SonicXS are about on par with my Cambridge Soundworks Slim500's. The sub blows it away of course but the satellites sound a little more "distant". imo at least

For those lucky enough to score one...
Save your receipt, cuz if I know compUSA like I think I do, it seems likely they'll have a 25% off speaker sale with turkey day approaching.
Just an extra $12.50 incentive to stop by on black friday.
I don't know any inside info... just a hunch.

I went to the Lewisville,TX and they have a lot. I was told that the Frisco, TX store would have them next week. Since they have a 14 day price guarantee, if these go down more, they should be able to adjust the price for you.

This usually retails around $199.00. Check out MicroCenter. Its listed as $199.99. Some online stores carry them around $160.00.

Eventhough website shows it with a different product number and price, In store is still prod # 295955 with a price of $49.99. Goodluck guys.

shows up at $49.99 for this item code...just ordered it online for store pickup, hopefully its the real deal.

This thing just keeps on living....

Hey people! These are freak'n sweet speakers!

They must be mis-tagged in-store for these to still be around.

When I got mine a few months back, the shelf price said $169.99 (i think) and they rang-up at $39.99 (months back).

Came back 2 days later to price-adjust with a 25% print ad so it was $30 for me. By then, they were OOS.... But now their back at a slightly higher price.
These would be well worth $100.

$50 is awesome

57th and B'way in Manhattan has a *bunch* left as of 6pm on 11/26. At least a dozen and a half. They're all the way at the back of the store, just past the big screen TV's. Yeah... big screen TV's. Since when does CompUSA sell those???

The pair I got had a bent pin in the minidin which connects the speaker to the sub. Good thing I noticed it before I plugged it in.

I picked up 2 pairs of these 2 weeks ago. After listening to them, I have to say that they are the best speaker deal out there. My brother plays in a band and can't believe that they sound so great. I'm using them in a system just for converting my records to CDs thru a noise reduction program. Great deal thanks!

I'm in for a a set. My wife is gonna kill me for getting yet another set of speakers but they do sound too good to pass up at that price. I did the PriceGrabber thing and about five vendors had them for about $170 to $199.

I might just need to sign up and start using eBay, since I keep trading up.

Thanks for the deal!

Everyone is getting these for Xmas from me. I tried to clean the McAllen, TX CompUSA out, but couldn't afford them all - so they've got 3 pair left.

Nice sound for $150 - amazing sound for $50!

Picked 'em up and brought them home today. I'm amazed at how awesome they sound! I'm lovin' it. I played a live album and closed my eyes and it was just like being there. I'm gonna see about getting another set or two or three... They put my ATP3s in the dirt!

Thank you again!

I picked up a set of these and they sound great. Only thing is that everytime I turn them on, they make a short buzzing noise. Is that normal?

Wow, looking through CompUSA's site, the 4.1 version of these speakers are like $200 more expensive. What's up with that? I guess you could buy 2 sets of these for a 4.2 setup, but then you'd have to deal with 2 volume controls and whatnot. Here's to hoping they have a sale on the 4.1 set.

Even with the butt ugly faceplate on these things, they would look sweet next to my 400sc. I don't think I will ever need 4.1 and 5.1 to pump out mp3's anyway... Got a call in to my nearest Compusa to see if any are left. If they do, I guess my Altec Lansing ACS-495's will go to the kids room!

I was able to (carefully) pry off that butt-ugly faceplate. It's just a thick/hard plastic sticker covering where the vol/bal controls would be if it were the right speaker instead of the left.

Warming the sticker with just the warmth of my hand helped loosen it up and it pryed off nice and clean.
I used a heavy-duty pc slot cover, but a flat screwdriver would work too.

Although there are small holes underneath where the bal and vol control would be, it is WAAAYYYYY better looking without it.

Awesome speakers.
