...that's right. And here's you first lesson:

Rosa Parks, initiator of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, born, Feb 4, 1913

On Dec 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refuses to yield her seat to a White man, initiating the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted over a year.

Marcus Garvey was the father of the Rastafarian movement. That whole movement kinda coincided with the beat movement where people tried to look really intellectual with thick rimmed glasses, locks, and sharp dressing. He also advocated that African Americans seek education from the west and bring it back to Africa to establish some sort of newer nation.

// off the top of my head =\

The 15th Amendment, providing for Black suffrage, ratified, 1870

"The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the United States constitution are collective known as the "slave amendments". Ratified after the end of the Civil War they (sort of) ensured former slaves citizenship and the right to vote, as well as legal barriers to the return to slavery.

In practice, of course, it would be another 100 years before Blacks were really able to vote more-or-less freely and Jim Crow laws as well as anti-Black customs, ubiquitous in both "The North" and "The South", would prevent these Americans from enjoying even second class citizenship for many decades to come. "

Al Sharpton, taking on the Tawana Brawley debacle, and leaving America with laughs for many years to come.
Thank you, Reverend Al, for showing us how the race card is played and how profitable it can be.
By the way, when is the last time he actually had a job? Just curious.

I'm white, I'm male, and I'm straight. I am the enemy of the political correctness movement. My right to be a slovenly, proud man is being oppressed by shows like, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." I can no longer be a gentleman in fear of being slapped by a feminist. I am a dying breed.

Can I have my own history month too?

You could probably say similar things and ask similar questions of Jesse Jackson.

Ah, the segment of the population with the most economic and political power whining about their lot in life. Yes you have my permission to lobby your Congress to creat a White Straight Male History Month. Of course you know you already have 11 months now.

Indeed, that phony is the King! All phonies and frauds along the lines of Sharpton and his ilk owe a debt of gratitude to the man who showed us all how to be a racist thief and thug, while hiding behind the protective cloth of being labeled a clergyman. Hallelujah, Rev. Jesse! Colt 45's all around

This is a new one. Talking about the positive contributions Afro-Americans have made promotes racism.

the whole rosa parks thing was planned by the NAACP. she wasn't just some woman who decided she wasn't going to move because she was tired.

that doesn't take anything away from what she helped accomplish, but i have a real problem with revisionist history. the truth is the NAACP used her because her image fit what they needed.

On this day in 1996, Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson dropped 41 pts on the hapless Cleveland Cavs.
