It's getting close to the 14th...

So I think it's time for a why-you-appreciate-those-special-in-your-life thread :]
(ok...I've just got too much time on my hands these past few weeks to hang out in OT, too)...I'll start:

my parents -- as much as they frustrate me and we fight, they're paying for school and they haven't kicked me out yet (and considering mom's reaction to my tattoo...)...and it's definitely their "fault" that i know english as well as i do today and that I actually study/get decent grades.

my sister -- she's my big sister and she's letting me be in / help plan her wedding...we're long past the days of me tagging along like the little brat i am. And her fiance is a pretty cool guy too :]

my "big brother" -- and best friend since 7th grade. we don't stay in touch often anymore, but he's always there when I need him, even if it's just to 'approve of' a new significant other ;p

my boyfriend -- 200 miles and 4 hours of driving every week...just so we can spend weekends together. lots of candy, chocolate, massages, great conversation, and random spoiling. need i say more?

So why are the people in your life special to you?

I am going to have a lot of Valentines gift to get. What irks me though is my wife is not in the U.S. yet. And she doesn't like me to sepnd so much money on her for sending a gift over seas... What to do. I think I will make a few music cds or something.

My sister, who has always been there for me and makes sure I get treated right.

Mom and Dad who are just awesome and managed to raise 4 kids who all actually like each other.

Each of my 3 kids, who make me a better person each day.

Mr Isla, even though we are never on the same wavelength, he works hard to support us and is a wonderful father to our children. He also has a nice butt.

Also, believe it or not, various and sundry cyber-friends who help fill in the gaps in my life with wisdom, laughter, and encouragement.

All in all, I'd say I'm blessed.

On Valentines I get to move from this city and leave my fiance because there are no IT jobs in this sh*t-hole of a town. Nice valentines gift.

man Valentines, I fear thee. What do you get the girl who has everything? Been with her for 4 years so theres not much more I can surprise here with? Hmm maybe a whole day of oils and messaging? Would that be good?

Yeah but they are friends and family. I got no significant other.

parents: they are of course paying for my tuition, and gave me their car to commute to the school (25+ miles). Even though my parents didnt quite supported me in the "MOVE OUT" that took place about a month ago, they are still lovely parents that i call special.

friends: several friends that are partially there to hang out

thats it really, no gf, not dating, so those are the only peeps i consider "special" at the moment.

My husband, who always takes good care of us, and is a wonderful father to our children.

My mom, who kept us going after my father died, and has always been there in her own special way.

My brother, who never ceases to make me laugh when I am feeling blue, and who never fails to surprise me.

And my best friend, who is always there when I need someone to talk to, and to listen to me rant about something patiently, without ever complaining.
