Actually I gave up on religion probably when I was about 10 years old. Hearing the same things beat into you at church every year and listening to a sermon that amounted essentially to "You're going to hell so don't even bother..." yeah. But alas, baptized through confirmed... on paper I'm a cathaholic. I prefer to do my praying only after it is determined I need to change my underwear.

Heh... I'm a confused soul. Several years ago I gave up giving up things for lent. One of the hardest things to do... but it sure simplified things quite a bit!

Today is not a Holy Day of Obligation, these are the Holy Days of Obligation, I work as a youth minister, so I am glad to have today off and not have to be in church (but I am going to Stations of the Cross later anyway):

* Thursday of the sixth week of Easter: the Ascension
