It's Good to Be Back!

I just have a few minutes for a quick update before I have to go rest, but it does feel good to be in front of a PC posting again.

Last Wednesday night I went to the Emergency Room with what I thought was a heart attack. It turns out I had a blood clot in my right leg, and a piece of it had broken off, travelled through the heart and lodged in my lungs (Pulminary Embolysim they call it). I was released from the hospital yesterday, and they tell me I am a very lucky guy.

I still can't do much activity yet without getting winded, but I see incremental improvements every day!

Thanks to all those who wished me well, I truly believe that every kind thought and prayer helps me to recover.

So now I am on blood thinners that reduce the clotting factor that stabalize the clot and helps my body absorb the existing clots. I will be on the thinners for 3 to 6 months.

Hopefully I can return to doing the Milestone Makers at some point soon.

Whew!! I've been a little worried since reading the first post about you being in the hospital.

I'm glad to know that you're on the road to recovery though! PE's are indeed serious stuff and I'm sure thankful that you got to the hospital when you did.

I wish you continued improvement until you are back to being the cane-weilding, rabid posting, praise-giving old coot we all know and love.
