Here's a test you quite probably *won't* be able to perform...
Still... on the off chance that you by some divine intervention are in the possession of a stick of ECC DDR memory, I'd like to know what the board says about that stick. Is it recognized, and if so, as what? Regular memory or ECC memory? BTW, mixing ECC and non-ECC memory *always* turns off ECC support.
The reason I'm asking is that I'm very much into ECC memory (yeah, I know it's not kool but neither am I... ). In fact it's a must-have feature to me, and while the A64 itself supports it, the verdict is out on the mobos. MSI US states on their
product page that it does, but only after I sent them an inquiry. No other MSI site does, including MSI Taiwan, and neither manual nor BIOS (both found at the Taiwanese site) express ECC support.
Still, paper (or in this case, a web page) is indulgent, and only a real world test will tell the truth. Sadly, I cannot perform that test myself at the moment.
So... are there any takers for this challenge?
Thanks in advance!
