this is what it looked like before i started work on it

the tank and fenders have been painted gloss black with green pearl overlay, the chrome and aluminum is also shining up really nice

i gotta go get a head gasket, sprockets and chain, and a rear brake shoe tomorrow

the seats are also being recovered...hopefully they're ready in a couple weeks or so cause i'm ready to start riding!

i'll post an after pic when i get done with it

Not sure whether you're speaking from first person experience with regard to both Harleys and Hondas, but I am. Both manufacturers make excellent machines, they're just different rides. We're lucky enough to enjoy a time where most all the big manufacturers are producing great bikes.

Apparently suzuki's site doesn't allow direct linking to that page, so try going to this page, and clicking "sv650s".

That's the bike I've been eyeing for a year or so. Just need to talk myself into getting it.

I need to ride it. I havent ridden it since last year. I need to bring it back to sac. I need a pick up to bring it from so.cal.

edit: those pics are from 2001... the bike looks a lot different now, with fendercomy, new bars, and dirty.

Excellent choice. It needs to be ridden!

I know excellent choice, i love my GS, teh 10000 miles i put on it was good, i can look forward to another 10K.
edit: i miss riding my bike. I miss riding, i miss teh freedom i had. The only thing the bike needs is a tuneup (oil change, new plugs, carbs cleaned and the jets raised one size up). Otherwise she is good to go.

I need a pick up truck to bring her back to nor.cal. My car's clutch might not last towing.

1. Harleys are every bit as reliable as the Japanese bikes.

2. Some people are not interested in being boy racers.

3. Harleys have the highest resale value, by far, of any manufacturer.

After 20 some years on crotch rockets, my boy racer days are behind me. If you want a good, dependable cruiser with class, buy a Harley.

And that's what I did.

Yeah, seriously. Some people love harleys, other like sports bikes. A bike is a bike. I still wave at all bikers, regardless of what kind of bike they ride.

Thanks

I wasn't into cruisers either until the last few years.

But my bike is no slouch. With free breathing intake and exhaust, plus a big bore kit, it pulls like a freight train. So much torque, it feels like it could pull stumps.

Granted, I wont be dragging my knees through any twisties, but then, there aren't many twisties in the Midwest anyhow.

Bingo! If you're on two (or three) wheels and in the wind, you're a fellow biker.
