<--Yankee fan (if my sig didn't give it away).

Clemens can do what he wants. It's Pettitte that I'm pissed about, because they Yanks COULD'VE had him back if George would've dealt with him like he deserved. Clemens was not coming back to the Yankees.

It's not like the Reds had a chance anyway

The NL Central is going to be THE toughest in baseball.

Cubs, Astros, Cardinals... even the Reds are pretty good. The Pirates and the Brewers still suck, thank God.

Boston, Yanks, and Baltimore, maybe toronto, its the AL east that will be the most competitive

I cannot wait for pitchers to start throwing at him. He's been doing that crap for quite awhile now, and its rightfully so if he gets beaned a few times this year.

I think the Orioles are going to be pretty bad next year. They have no starting pitching.

Camden Yards is not exactly a pitcher friendly park though. This should help them at home, but on the road they will be screwed. Maybe they can get Palmeiro to pitch

It's not as if he took a couple of years off to try his hand at basketball when he was not playing golf or anything....

I think that was a pretty sad decision by Clemens. I guess it goes to show the kind of person he is. a "Me first" kinda guy.

Oh well, the Yankees will find some way to make up for it. Playing against the Mets will be interesting though.

I'd have to give the edge to NL Central. AL East is still going to be very good, as is the AL West. Amazing how weak the AL Central is going to be again this year, considering how good the other two divisions will be.

I'm not too worried about the Yankees. They always seem to find players somewhere.

Good for Clemens, he was pitching too well to walk away. He's not my favorite, but the guy still has talent. Just glad I don't have to watch him play for the Yankees any more.

Yup, I miss Pettite too.

Way to go Roger!

This gives the Astros the finest pitching staff in baseball in my opinion.

Clemens
Oswalt
Pettitte
Miller
Redding

Plus you've got all-stars Bagwell and Biggio who are close to closing out their careers, and are still hungry for a ring.

The Astros have been close for so long. This is our year!

Going to be fun at the juicebox this year.

Hope the Astros and Yankees meet in the World Series. Wouldn't that be something!

My sister in law and Clemens wife do some charity stuff here in Houston once in a while. He has a beautiful house here. I'm glad he's coming home for good, and not just in the off season this time. He also signed a 10 year personal services contract with the Astros too.

I think Clemens wanted to be home, first of all. Second, I think he really wanted to be away from Steinbrenner. Third, when Petite was traded/let go to the Astros, Clemens filed for free agency. I really believe that if Petite had remained at NY, Clemens would have stayed out of baseball. But, with Steinbrenner being the smart guy he is, he let Petite go and that was the lure Houston had fo rClemens. It shouldn't have surprised anyone he's at AHouston now.......when a player signs up for free agency, that just about screams he's going to play.

Nice to see steinbrenner get some dirt kicked in his face, intentional or not.

Lets just hope that clemens now decides to go into the Hall with an astros hat.

Thats not his choice.

Its 100% his choice - ask dave winfield - who, much to the chagrin of steinbrenner, decided to go in as a padre.

It will be interesting tho to see if clemens wants to go in as a redsox or a yankee.

The HOF took away the player's choice and now makes the final decision (I think as a result of Winfield). There were rumors around Winfield at the time that the Padres "bought" the privilege of having him go in as a Padre by giving him gifts and a job.

Gary Carter went in as an Expo, and IIRC his first choice would have been to wear the Mets hat.

But it'll be funny if they put Clemens in with the Boston hat -- he's still anti-Red-Sox, right?

It is going to funny hearing Yankee fans go into denial about Clemens like they did with Pettitte. Why aren't the Yankees keeping their pitching?
