Craigslist is an excellent tool for finding things like boats, cars, etc.
Of course, it is totally buyer beware. If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be there. It clearly doesn't have the built in protection places like eBay do. People know that when they walk in.
Electronics are especially bad in this regard. That is not a condition unique to Craigslist. The only time I buy electronics on ebay is when the seller has thousands of positive ratings. I will NEVER chance buying electronics on craigslist. It's to easy to hid things like motherboard or hard-drive problems that only appear with extended use (reboots, corruption, etc).
(Really, is it any surprise that ZaneJohnson necroed this post?)
