Well, what you do here is going to make or break you. Hope you'll take the responsible part and support her emotionally, and support the baby emotionally and financially upon delivery.

It isn't for you to be sad, but it's okay to be scared . . . for as long as fear does not translate to irresponsible behaviour. Good luck!

I don't know what you should be either. I know I would be scared out of my MIND about being a dad at 24. That being said, good luck and congratulations! Don't make any rash decisions right now. You have months to go before the baby is on the scene, so don't do anything crazy until you have time to think it through and talk it over with the girl.

My girlfriend is on the pill, and I make sure she takes it everyday at the same time.... and although I'm pretty confident in it, I've heard horror stories....

I am not sure what we would do. We would be forced to make some serious decisions.

In the other thread you mention that you wished you knew this girl better.. how long have you been going out, and what kind of person is she? Do you see a future with her (even if it's unplanned?), and is she potential marriage material?

And... How do you plan to explain someday to your kid that he/she is the result of an experiment with a new sexual position gone bad?

No. However, I told her in casual conversation before I started dating her that I would demand a paternity test before signing birth papers in the event I ever had a kid before marriage, and I don't intend to change that. I think it's impossible that she could be pregnant with someone else's kid (we've spent almost 24/7 together for the last couple weeks)....but I think it's a smart thing to do regardless.

I don't intend to do anything else. I've told her that regardless of where our relationship ends...I want to be a good father and raise this baby better than my father raised me.

She definitely IS...but I've only known her for a couple months and have only dated her for three weeks. I don't know where we will end up.

I can't change the past. If I raise the kid well hopefully that won't be an issue.

I second that wholeheartedly. I became a single mother in an unplanned situation and I also love EVERY minute of being a mom. The fear and feeling unprepared are totally appropriate, but when the baby comes (which, personally, i'm VERY glad is the choice), somehow you'll be ready and you'll love it more than you've ever loved anything/anyone else.
