A better time to release it would be after everyone gets finished with RotLC's content and gets bored (4-5 months after launch?). That would give them plenty of time to fix / polish the game and implement changes based on continued beta feedback.

Is anybody in beta now? I saw a few game play vids from the web site and must admit the graphics are kinda shotty. This true in game? They barely look better than WoW, at least the footage I saw...

Not sure what you saw, but the graphics in game looks hella better than WoW. Check www.warhammeralliance.com and look in their forums for gameplay links.

once you get used to paying for it... it is nothing...

especially if you play an hour or two daily..that's like ~50 cents a day.

15$ a month is $0.50 a day

or 2 drinks at the bar on any given night

Exactly. That 2 drinks at the bar I would have had if not for my $15 MMO addiction saved me from alcoholism. So there is a positive here people.

Ah yes I see, the videos on warhammeronline.com must be old, the youtube videos are much easier on the eyes...

ok, played 3 hours straight after i got home from work....

the graphics are better than wow (and should be), i play a mage in wow, so i picked an empire fire mage... the spell take a bit longer to fire off... so the combat action is a bit slower compare to wow.

pve - pretty standard - love the public group heroic quest, anyone can participate if you're in the zone. if you contribute, you can roll for the loot (i actually won once out of 5 times i play)
rvr - ok, my first rvr feels like the 'battlegrounds' in wow. it is pretty cool. you can loot players (the loot probably is generated and not from the player themselves, we got a green once)

well, going back to play chapter 2 now.

Believe it or not the graphics are limited to medium to low settings currently so expect them to improve. The high end graphic system has not been put in yet. As for the loot off dead players well yes it's random generated because that is how they planned it from the start. The guild system in this game is pretty damn nice and already my guild has ranked up.

My biggest issue so far was the interface.
It took quite a bit of customizing to get things where I needed them.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I hope it turns out better than AoC did in later levels. I also hope the PvP is fun and rewarding. Arenas in WoW just don't cut it for MMO PvP IMO.

Yeah and considering the last time they delayed WAR there were rumors that that Mythic was making it more WoW like because thats what the beta testers were demanding supposedly. Since I have been playing AoC I havent been following WAR so not sure whats being said or shown publicly. I'll try it though because it has RvR in it. I sure hope Mythic learned from their past DAoC mistakes.

RvR is a flawed system. It's artificial motivation for PvP and it doesn't hold up.

Out of curiousity, what PvP system was better than DAoC's?

Scenarios are basically BGs, RvR applies more to the open world PVP i think, where you can capture keeps and such, and eventually their capital city.

That being said if the graphics in the beta are only medium I can't wait to see the High settings.

I ran around in beta yesterday for an hour on a friends account just to get a feel for the controls and interface.

In regards to look and feel it reminded me of WOW. I am sure content wise it will be different.

At this point I think I will pass on the game as I didn't find any classes on the order side that appealed to me. I hate to say it but nine classes per realm is really limiting particularly when all of the classes are race specific.
