I agree wit this. I played DAoC for YEARS - it was the best MMO, IMO, until Mythic dismantled it beginning with ToA. I played WoW, but it just couldn't hold the interest for me. The PvP was atrocious, and I'm hoping that PvP in WAR is good.

honestly i hope 1/2 of WoWs player base jumps ship to WAR, because then mabye blizzard will get its head out of its ass and fix all the shit thats wrong with WoW

That is part of my thinking. The solid competition could be good for both games.

One major question I have about the game. I know NDA is still in effect so maybe just a yes or no answer would work?

Armor and how you look. I played EQ2 from the start and yes they had awsome graphics but everyone looked like everyone else. They never gave options for different armor, or very little. WoW does this very well, I hardly ever see anyone looking exactly like anyone else. They have many options that are good for armor/weapons. this really helps make your character your's.

War - does it have limited types(looks) of armor/ weapons like EQ2 or is it more like WoW with many good choices?

I plan on playing but I am really hoping they spend extra time making things look different. I really do not want to look like the other 100 squid herder's, how will Mom tell us apart?

Corpse looting is in there, but it is a randomly generated object not something from that player. This works well , especially with RVR. You would easily end up having nothing if they did it the other way.

That's not the only alternative. For starters it doesn't have to be generic to be relatively easy to get. Considering some gear takes weeks to obtain in WoW it's important to be relative here, lol

That's not the only alternative. For starters it doesn't have to be generic to be relatively easy to get. Considering some gear takes weeks to obtain in WoW it's important to be relative here, lol

Weeks? Try months. I ran BWL almost every week for over a year and still never got a drake fang talisman before TBC came out.

True. EA/Mythic is going for a large broad fan base ala WoW so they wont take a chance on their players losing hard gained items in RvR.

I am sorry but once you reached end level in WoW and started raiding everyone began to look the same. In WAR though you will have item dyes and trophies to add distinction between classes but overall a Chosen will still be easy to spot even though he may have different trophies and different colored gear on.

I really wish people would stop bringing up Eve as an example of why WoW's pvp is flawed. WoW's endgame progression is based entirely on the principle of carefully metered incremental gear upgrades. Who's going to spend hundreds of hours to get a single piece of gear only to lose it in a 20 second fight in which you're hopelessly outnumbered?

Most players aren't gluttons for punishment.
