But they set precedence. They ADMITTED they screwed those up (never seen that done in the industry)
You obviously haven't played AoC, Vanguard, Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault, did not witness the CU and NGE nerfs done to SWG or read about Dark and Light.

whatever happened to Dark and Light, I remember back when I was a 60 druid that this was all the talk and people jumping ship to join D&L

Anyone have any information about how populations are looking? Any side look to be more populated? I'm hoping to be the underdog.
If the beta is any indication then Destruction is going to be more populated (kinda figures that anyway).

Do unbalanced populations really screw with the RvR? I'm wondering if playing the underdog is going to mean getting completely dominated a lot of the time.

Is there a torrent to download the open beta? My PC keeps crashing (damn nvidia sata drivers) and fileplanet isnt letting you resume the download.

Open Beta Start Date
Sweet jesus... September 7th?! Ridiculously late for open beta. About a week and a half of open beta before the product releases. Sounds like they are trying to keep as few as people on the 'in' on what this game is like. I really want to know how it plays, because I'm interested as long as it's not a carbon copy of WoW. But I don't want to pay $50 to find out during the free month that I hate it. Might have to put $5 down on pre-order just so I can get a 'trial' during the open beta.

The open beta is only for stress test. The game has been in closed beta for over a year. The major issues are fixed, its just the little things like spelling errors, landscape tweaks, etc that are left.
It is definitely not a carbon copy of wow.

Are there "grinding" elements in the game?
PVP: Is RvR exciting and challenging and can lower levels contribute?
Leveling: How's the quest system and can you level from killing players? Is leveling even as important as in EQ and WoW?
How important is player crafting?
Are the classes unique?
Are tanks like the Black Orc class useful in RvR/PvP?

Black Orcs are good in PvP as they are the front man and can take a beating. One on one maybe not, but grouped with a healer and they are good. Long term it is hard to tell at this point.
