Yes, ladies and gents, whip out your creditcards and bankers cheques! The X2 3800+ has been spotted. See this? X2 3800+ Processor. See this? CPU-Z confirmation.

I for one am curious what it'll cost and if an X2 4000+ part will be available, too.

Discuss!

EDIT: An Austrian webshop claims to have it in stock. See this page. It costs ?353,49. A Dutch webshop says they'll start shipping them next week. I called them, it's true. See this page.

Would be fine, but the 3800+ is a Manchester core. I'd wait for the 4000+ Toledo core.

I don't think there will be a Toledo core X2 4000+, as AMD will just be shooting itself in the back if they released a 1MB cache X2. Basically, all the 4400+ sales will go down the drain.

They did that with the 3700+ SD and the 4000+ SD didn't they? Doesn't seem to have hurt them too much.

I for one am hoping for these low-end X2's to drop the 4400+ price a bit. $620 is a bit much to pay right now.

Have you ever thought how hard it is to shoot yourself in the back???

Resistance is futile...

On a side note...I think I'm gonna hold off until the Christmas season to get an X2. Hopefully prices will be a bit more reasonable.

I'm along with others in saying I hope that these lower end parts drop prices of the higher end processors. It seems like common sense that if amd released a $350 x2 then it'd be much more difficult to pass off 4400s for $600+.

It'll be nice to see the 2.6 and 2.8 Models towards the end of the year..I take it theres only speed bumps until 65nm starts for AMD (Q1).

Clarkey01 - Are those 65nm cores that you are referring to being released Q1 going to be socket 939 or M2? Just makin sure with you...cuz I'm pretty sure M2 is next summer. I wonder how much cooler those new cores will run....

Good question, they will be a phase transition I bet. I need to look at the roadmaps, I myself am not sure whats coming up apart from speed bumps but I believe revision F is due Q1/Q2.

I havnt heard of any major tweaks coming up soon, but they again, it's not like they have to until dual core pentium m's arrive.

I bet that they will want to make the F cores on the 65nm production lines and then I just have to ask if its worth it to make E cores for a couple of months and then reconfiguring it all for F cores? Can someone say something to that?

Heh, AMD isn't that far along on 65nm production. They're about a YEAR behind Intel, who is already etching 65nm dies

So I'd say plenty of E cores in the forseeable future.
