It's OK to be GAY?
genetic condition... people can't help it... so it's ok?
So I've been seeing that around lately... people arguing for genetics and other reasons that cause gayness and basically there's nothing they can do about it. It's not their fault, so it's ok to be gay.
Where the hell did this stuff come from ? Is this the new wave of no-reponsibility arguments (with Hollywood is making me gay lawsuits), or just a an attempt ot make being gay socially acceptable?
I'm sorry, but if you're gay, there is something wrong with you. You are unhealty and will die sooner than average. And genetics or not, your most likely to get aids.
Now the above is not a knock against gays, so much put your banning ways away.
It's about the fact that people love to find someone they can ridicule when it has nothing to do with them.
It's exactly the same.
yea, because gay people take up 2 spaces in the movie theatre, airplain seats, and the subway.
yes, because gay people need more health care than straight people, raising health insurance costs for everyone.
yea, because gay people can get off their lazy asses and go to the gym, and do cardio, and also go on a diet, and become straight from that.
yea, i see how they are exactly the same ...
No it's not about them, it's about you. Want to not be gay? Don't have sex with men.
Fat people have no real effect on me, nor do gays. I don't come here and ridicule either. You pick one. Maybe you pick both.
Nice change of culture here BTW mods.

did you miss my 2 examples of how it affects me?
i don't want to be cramped in a seat due to them being fat, nor do I want to pay more in healthcare costs due to them being fat.

It would be nice if people were healthier in America though. Less strain on healthcare
IMO, Obesity and AIDS are both big problems in America.Originally posted by: Hayabusa Rider

You tend to walk your ass off in Rome, that helps a lotOriginally posted by: phantom309
It really is striking. I saw more obese people in 15 minutes at the Philly airport than in the previous 10 days wandering around Rome.Originally posted by: miri
Yep, when I lived in Europe it was extremely rare to see anyone under the age of 40 that was fat.

Nah, fat people tend to die faster and thus less strain on healthcare and social security. People tend to get sick at old ages no matter what so dying sooner would be less of a strain on healthcare.
Yeah, agreed. In other words...It would be nice if people were healthier in America though. Less strain on healthcare
Really? Have a link to some reliable statistics? Are you kidding me?.... Ummm, obese people are the largest users of prescription drugs and healthcare in this nation. Old people take a large percent, but not as much as obese people.

It would be nice if people didn't smoke, drink, take illegal drugs, or in most cases (exclusions being those with Bipolar I and whatnot, obviously) take legal drugs (including OTC stuff, yes). It would also be nice if people balanced their diets as carefully as possible taking into account the many different types of carbohydrate mixtures, fatty oils, and micronutrients down to selenium. Furthermore-- ooh, here's a BIG one-- people should stop using antibiotics (including antibiotic hand soap) unless prescribed by a doctor, and then only EXACTLY as prescribed. While we're at it, no one should have sex unless they're specifically trying to make a baby. And we shouldn't use computers for more than an hour a day.
I know that you personally aren't making any arguments against the existence of fat people or whatever, of course. I'm just trying to detail for others exactly what it would mean for us to be healthier, all with decisions we could all choose to make.

People don't want to take responsibility. Why worry about your weight now when you can have medication prescribed to deal with the inevitable heart conditions, joint pain, high cholesterol, diabetes (adult onset), etc? Why spend 50$ and hour with a trainer who can change the rest of your life when you can get the healthcare insurance to pay 20$ for a generic brand of prescription 10 years from now to "offset" the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle? People don't put any value on a higher quality of life. A lot of people want to blame genetics. Genetics don't play such a huge a part in 35% of this counties population being obese (not overweight, but obese). Although I think the real percentage is different (they used BMI to declare obesity and I believe they didn't take into account body fat, which obesity is something like > 30% for males and X% of pounds)
I think it is an effort at making being fat socially acceptable. Did you know that they widened the seats at the new mile high stadium by over 3 inches? And Denver is supposed to be one of the fittest cities.

She's either:
a) not burning more calories than she takes in on a daily basis
b) lying about 1000 calorie per day intake
it's simple, really

I am against all that stuff you mentioned as well BTW. But, again, obese people are the highest users of prescription drugs in the nation.
