I hope they don't include the anti glare coating that's on the iPad Air 2s.

I'll still play FC4 on the pc but play Infinity Blade 3 on the 6.

Idk if it helps but it also runs on Mullins.

Too late! We all know you're the biggest intel fanboy now. I'm guessing though that phones will never really get to a full gaming capacity. The market won't want to see innovation go that way. Graphics performance needs to get to a peak point, then it'll be about who has the cheapest phone that still is "premium feel" to it.

In December 2011, the iPhone was at 45nm and PC GPUs were at 28nm.

In December 2014, the iPhone is at 20nm and PC GPUs are at 28nm.

It's time we admitted that we're no longer the leading edge.
Can it play Crysis though?

It's interesting to watch people in denial. Want to see what this means in real terms?

In 3 years we have gone from the HD7970 to the GTX 980. Not a bad performance increase, right? It's almost twice as fast!

Meanwhile, the iPhone went from iPhone 4S to iPhone 6. And its GPU is more than 8 times faster.

(I had to pull results from two different sites to make the comparison, because they don't tend to benchmark 3 year old phones any more... because they are moving so fast.)

You realise that the mobile platform is simply doing what desktop GPUs did 10 years ago just with updated APIs and higher memory limits right?

I wouldn't consider Mobile the leading edge because it's winning in power consumption or because it has the latest node shrink. I would consider the leader to be the one furthest ahead by the measure of what the hardware was principally designed to do - drive visuals. They may be built on a superior process but that doesn't matter when the driving force behind that is running off a battery, not a power socket and it has much more stringent cooling and packaging requirements.

Leading edge would be if mobiles got DX12 while desktops were stuck at DX11 because lower power requirements were more important than performance. Everything that the mobile platform has achieved is due to the learnings taken from the desktop segment.

If performance wasn't the main drive across the board it would remain stagnant whilst power consumption was decreased, but this isn't happening.

I get your point but it's largely irrelevant.
