i almost killed myself going home because of all these fvckin suv's that were blasting by at like 60 mph through 2 inch thick snow. Even trucks were going at like 40.

i work at a drycleaning plant, in a small town in eastern north carolina. snow here is rare (twice a year tops normally, a couple of inches at most then)

so, i woke up, theres at least 4" on the ground and its still coming. on the typical snow day we dont see 1/5th of our usual customers; so by turning on a boiler and getting it 8-12 people to work; the boss can't possible be making a dime, and is likely losing money.

Since I have to be in at 6 (7 today, thanks ass) i have to go outside, clean off my car, my porch, drive at probably 20mph tops, instead of 60 to get to work, so we can "serve" all of 20 customers today, most of whom will say "oh, I didnt expect you guys to even be open this morning" since short of gas stations and grocery stores, the whole town stops in its tracks.

So in addition to getting 3 hours off christmas eve (when, again, we'll lose money being open at all) i get 1 hour off this morning...Id rather be home with the wife and kids, since she won't have ANY customers today and doesn't like to drive 30 miles in the snow to sit in an otherwise empty building.

today is going to suck

Thanks..I drive it in the winter, so it takes a bit of work to keep nice. I still haven't put on my Blizzaks yet...probably should. Those tires on like .00000001 inches of snow are like useless...unless I want to drive sideways.

As for hockey...I've got season's tickets to the local AHL team..so I'm still getting ~42games of hockey, plus the AHL All-Star weekend is @ our rink this year.
