It Snowed Yesterday Here in Pittsburgh

We got 2 inches, and now its 6* outside.

Yeah, we got snow last night (19th). Maybe about an inch accumulation. I love my school zone. It extends into western VA and so tehy have to take into account everyone. The streets are completely clean and I don't have to go to school.

Thanks..I drive it in the winter, so it takes a bit of work to keep nice. I still haven't put on my Blizzaks yet...probably should. Those tires on like .00000001 inches of snow are like useless...unless I want to drive sideways.

As for hockey...I've got season's tickets to the local AHL team..so I'm still getting ~42games of hockey, plus the AHL All-Star weekend is @ our rink this year.

I had an 86 Cutlass that was the same way... (posi rear). I got yelled at once because I was half-fishtailing down my friend's snow-covered street. His neighbour told us to "stop with the shenanigans" :laugh: - classic!

Which AHL team? My wife's cousin plays for the Memphis RiverKings (ECHL?). I know a lot of guys that have played down in the States for various teams, and over in Europe. I'd love to catch some action soon, we have the OHL here in Windsor Ont and also in London Ont which has a much much much much better rink. Our "barn" is more/less a historic landmark which they still play in. Its gotta be the oldest rink in the O by a long shot. Haven't been to a game yet though which is sad. Soon!

The Manchester Monarchs (LA Kings). They have been leading the league so far, and started the year going 19-1-0, scoring an average of 5GPG and leading the league on offense, defense, and attendance. They've cooled off on their recent road trip and half dropped a few since.

Standings

I'm actually happy there is no NHL..there is no way half our players would be playing in Manchester if they were. We have like 4 or the league's leading scorers, and Garon would possibly be LA's #1 goalie.

I've seen Gleason play quite a bit, when he played for the Windsor Spitfires, and Cammalleri (sp?) once when he played for Michigan. The great thing about the A and the O and other leagues is that the guys play their hearts out, because they have something to play for (ie. making it big). I find OHL to be much more intense than watching a game in "Hockeytown" which is across the river... but thats just me. The atmosphere at the Joe is great, but give me OHL action any day. With the lockout, I'm not sure how that has affected the tenactity of the play but it's all high-quality, action-packed good hockey. btw I'm an Oilers fan - I like the run & gun type offense and I like their young players. Shawn Horcoff is kicking some a$$ for the Euro team he is with which is nice to see. Like I was saying in another thread too, I really miss being in a pool. In the past few years pools have only added to the greatness of hockey.
