Why did they stop the race instead of going into OT? I dont watch much nascar, but watch other racing (Indy, F1, grand prix) and its strange to see all the cars stopped on the track so close to one another.

They're cleaning the track of debris. NASCAR also has a practice of stopping the races when something like this happens at the end so that the fans see a race end under the green flag instead of under caution.

It is for clean up but we are sitting with 3 laps to go and a red flag before the end of the race gives fans a Green White Checker finish that they want to see.

Green White Checker is always hard at Daytona (and Talladega) because it takes them so much time to get back up to speed.

Hopefully Mark Martin has some friends out there that will push him ahead of Shrub when they go back to green. I'd definitely prefer him to win more than Shrub but Harvick might have a chance.
