The higher resolution on the iPhone 4 taxes the GPU a bit more than on the 3GS, but it's still smooth and playable (to me at least). Should run really well on a 4S or iPad 2.
I have a 4S and an iPad 2. The upgraded graphics of the iPad 2 are carried over to the 4S since they run the same GPU. Even with the retina resolutions, it still runs flawlessly smooth. I actually prefer playing it sometimes on the phone since I can do combo slashes easier.
This is true. I played it for like 6 hours straight for one night. Haven't really played it much since. I have forgotten all the moves and stuff. Still I know it will come in handy sometime when I am bored and stuck on a plane or something. Problem there is, it sucks down the battery pretty hard.
