I don't do illegal drugs, but does anyone know how long it takes for nicotine to leave the system? Or does it even show up?

I only ocassionally smoke, and had one tonight (9PM Pacific) and the test is tomorrow at Noon. I found out they "frown" on smokers, and like an idiot I said that I never do. Just don't want to get caught in a lie before I even start the new job!

If I get busted, I guess that's what I get!

Not that i smoke, or can even tolerate the smell of cigarettes but I would have problems working for a place that didn't like my perfectly legal activites that i partake of on my own time. That's my business and not there's.

when they send in the drug test, they test for certain drugs that they specify. Usually weed / Hard drugs. They actually have a checklist that they mark off to test, so take a look at it. I don't even think the lab would test for smoking cigs... i mean you could get 2nd hand smoke from anywhere... they can't put that blame on you like that. Who cares.

One, I guarantee you they won't test for nicotine. They could care less. They'll be looking for weed / cocaine / other hard drugs.
Two, they can detect smoking for about a month. Two months for wacky tobacco.

They don't test for drugs. They frown on smokers but they will not test for it. What they were looking for was for oyu to come into the interview reeking like a chimney. As long as you didn't, they won't know. THe standard urinalysis only tests for illegal drugs, not cigarettes.

Typical pre employment/post accident testing is wide spectrum and indicates numerous metabolite compounds legal and illegal. State of the art drug testing has advanced and is cheaper then ever. Insurance companies even offer discounts to drug test at every oppertunity.
