I've had the hiccups for almost 3 hours now.....

This is insane... Started after i saw something really funny at the gas station around 10:30 and it hasnt stopped since....

I've tried everything... water, bag over head, head between legs drinking water, sugar..... it wont stop......

Any ideas? It seriously freaking hurts now...

touch the dangly thing in the back of the throat (uvula) - the gag reflex generally makes the hiccups go away. For what it's worth, many of the home remedies indirectly stimulate the same thing (plugging the nose and chugging water, etc.)

What usually works for me is to sit in a chair...take a deep breath and hold it, then putting my arms straight out behind my head and stretch. This stretches out your core and helps your diaphragm muscle to chill out...

You know what you should do? Get a glass filled with water, fill it with a bunch of sugar (1/8 of the cup), drink, hiccups are gone. This has NEVER failed for me, drinking water alone won't work quickly if at all

3 hours? I would contemplate suicide if that were me. I want to die if I have them for over a minute.....although mine are very violent and painful. I eat VERY fast.
