When they first came out, I thought they looked so weird. I just got my first pair - and boy are they comfortable. I got the new 'islander's' - I think I can get away with wearing these at work.

I had a pair of molded sandals that I used to wear out when I walked the dog. I think they cost me about $5, and they were actually comfortable. Wouldn't be caught dead in public wearing them, but I suppose times change.
