Ivy Bridge Comes On Monday 4.23. Who's buying?

Part of the reason I'm upgrading is to have a motherboard with SATA 3. I am going from a 300 gb velociraptor to 2 x Mushkin deluxe 240 gb in raid 0. Should be a pretty big boost just from that.

ok read a few different threads on other boards that microcenter and frys says won't be available until the 29th.

The store I called on April 22nd said they had 3 3770 (non K edition) already, and they aren't good about getting hardware on day 1.

I think they are right. I lost the patience to wait for the Core i7 3770K as I was told that it will only arrive at the end of the month, no guarantees either that it will be end of the month and probably later than that. This is with a seller with retail boxes of Core i5 3570K ready for sale, which I bought of course.

On a side note, I did see someone posted a screenshot of a Core i7 3770K supposedly to be retail version showing that CPU-Z showing that it has a 77W TDP, not 95W as mentioned on the box. Temps aren't impressive either. It should pretty much be confirmed that IB will be HOT.

Looking back at past anandtech reviews for intel processors it looks like some come up at 3 am, some at 2 am, and some at 12. hmm

what? I believe the NDA lifts sometime on the 23rd but supposedly they may not be available for actual purchase until the 29th.

lol, that really doesn't make any sense.

How are you supposed to buy them while at the same time not disclosing anything about them?

I am disappointed that no reviews are up yet, though. I figured it'd be NDA expiring on 23 and on sale the 29 as well, but we will see in the morning. Maybe everyone's just late for a Sunday night.

Based on the review - If you have an i7-2600k won't see too much reasons for the change to a i7-3770k...
