IWILL KA266 Jumpers

Just assembling my first system (1.33 AMD AXIA 266; 64MB DDR ATI Radeon; 512 MB DDR Crucial etc) with an Iwill KA266. Can anyone point me to somewhere for an explaination of the jumper settings/options:My Q particularly:

1. Page 9 :

CPU FSB & Memory Speed setting

OFF (open) CPU133/133MHz

ON (Short)CPU 100/100Mhz

Then it says KA266/KA266-R only supports synchronuos CPU & memory speed.

SO BASED ON ABOVE WHAT DO I CHOOSE.

2. Page 11 :

Wake on Modem. There are three pins. 1: 5VSB; 2: GND; 3 Control Pin. If I want it to wake do I chose 1 and 2 or 2 and 3.

If someone could answer these or point me somewhere I think I might be able to work the others out and get it powered up.

Links to somewhere with a step by step also appreciated.

1. your CPU is AXIA 266, so if you dont "unlock" it for future overclocking, then you need to set your jumper to 133mhz (leave in on the mobo witn one attached pin only)

2. sounds like this is where you would connect your modem. This will "wake up" your computer if it goes into sleep mode when an incomming call comes thru to the modem. I didnt plug anything into this one.

like marcoco said you need to set the jumper at 133mhz
when it talks about the ram running synchronous that just means that the cpu and ram are on the same bus frequency, for example both are 133mhz or both 100mhz

and i doubt you want your pc to wake on anything, not modem/lan/etc

THANKS, OK clear on the but I am still unsure.

1. If I did want to overclock what would I chose.

2. If I wanted my PC to wake on modem do I have to jumper 1&2 or 2&3 or leave it jumperless and conversely if I dont want the PC to wake - do I jumper or what/and what?

The wake on modem/lan connectors are not jumpers. If you have a modem/nic that support these features, you will have a 3 pin cable that attaches your modem/nic to the mother board. This is telling you the pin config, not which pins to put a jumper on. If you do have a compatible modem, the cable you have will have a red wire. This is the usually the one supplying power. You attach the cable to the mobo with the red wire towards pin 1.

If you want to overclock you can just leave the jumper set at 133, then go into the bios to raise it higher then 133, or alternatively leave the jumper at 133 and use the multiplier jumpers to increase the multiplier from 10(the default for your chip) to 10.5 or higher.

Thank you all, now that I look at the motherboard rather than the instructions the jumper issue was rather obvious. Well with my confidence restored I will continue.
