IWill KK266 mobo issues

I am trying to figure out a possible problem with this board. I am building a 1 gig AMD system and I am having problems seeing the video on my mobo. I know that video card is fine. I test it on another system and it showed up ok. When I start up the system, the light comes on in the motherboard, heatsink fan is running, everything seems ok. But with the video card, I cannot get a screen. I had tried several working video cards and monitors. I check the PCI and AGP slots and I know they are working ok. I used NICs to test the PCI slots and a GeForce 2 card to test the AGP slot. The fan was running on the GeForce 2 but no video appeared on the monitor. I test another card (voodoo 3 16 meg) This is a first for me as I cannot figure out what the issue is. Can anyone assist? I would like to determine if the mobo is bad and move on with this project. Thanks for your time.

P.S. I pretty much test the part in another system and all work fine.

Have you tried the board with just the bare essenials? hd/vid card/cdrom no pci slots used?

I have a problem with the KK266-R too. Mine's a 1.4 TBird, running XP Pro, well when I say "running" I mean it boots and stays on for a few minutes - then as soon as you try using it for anything, it'll freeze (no BSOD) or reset itself.

It used to work fine with Win98SE and a Duron 750, since then I've bought a Volcano 7+ HSF, 520W PSU and a shedload of round cables etc. in a vain attempt to get it stable!

It seems to be corrupting hard drives now - both on the RAID and the IDE (not the SCSI though).

Does the IDE on this mobo just die after a while - I think that's why XP is crashing as I've tried everything from latest 4in1, Radeon drivers, Service Pack 1, 2x AGP instead of 4x etc. and nothing helps - the only thing I've yet to try is turning off ACPI and USB when I install XP.

Anyone have a stable Athlon 1GHz+ WinXP IWill system?

Anyway, as far as your graphics problem goes, are you sure you have the BIOS set to use AGP first, not PCI? Also, the KK266 has problems with certain ATI cards - I've tried a 32Mb AiW 128 Pro PCI and a Rage 98 Pro 8Mb AGP, neither of those worked so now I have a 32Mb AGP Radeon LE (basically an OEM DDR 7200). I've never heard of problems with NVidia cards thogh.

When turning on the system, do you at least hear a "beep" from the system speaker? Have you checked the FSB jumper on the motherboard? The manual (depending on the version you have) shows the 100/133 in the opposite order.

I attempted to build a system around the KK266 raid about a year ago. After repeated attempts to get Win2k installed I finally gave up and put 98 on it. I would imagine XP may have some of the same problems with that board that Win2k has. I was using a Voodoo3, onboard sound, linksys nic, and a internal ide zip100 drive (the zip was the root of many of my problems).

I wish I could be of some help as I recall very clearly my frustration with that board...but all I can offer is a sympathetic bump
