Recently, I have noticed that my computer power goes off all of a sudden. I found out it is due to something with how my motherboard is put in my case. Its seems to be grounded at times. If i adjust the motherboard, the computer works (turns on ) again. I have 4 screws holding the motherboard to the case, but cant figure out what is causing it to ground out at times (power not come on).

Any suggestions how I can fix this problem?

Can't really say what it is, but i'll say that i'd replace the case before i'd have to replace the mobo.

PS i brand new.
Case is 4 months old (cost me 180).

Isnt there a washer or something you can put between the mb and the case (or where the screws go when screwing in the case?)

I have some square things now that the screws go into, but wondernig if there was anythign else

LOL arent you using the standoffs? those are the little square things that screw into the case and then the MB mounts on them no washers needed.Good Luck

Would improper ram placement cause the system to shut off? I know that the ram and ram slots can be trickey on this mb. Just a thought?

If it was the ram it wouldnt boot at all.I would still try another PS what brand is it? Ive gotten bad PS before just because its new dosent mean its good. Also what are youre temps? Also make sure the plugin on the mb is good and tight

You can use electrical tape on the holes between the standoffs and the board. Punch a hole to screw through the tape. I don't know if this will fix your problem, but it will be an easy step in testing your theory.

Could It maybe be that the main power connector to the MB isnt completely tight did you try pushing it down a little extra so that little clip on the power connector locks on to the motherboard connector. Intermittent power is usually something lose. Well you probably already checked this but good luck.
