But it eventually did after I put the FSB jumper on 100 rather than 133. Is this part of the problem why the board was recalled a while back?
I only saw this board for several hours and I think the Revision was 1.02.
The guy is running an 800 Duron with 256 Corsair PC133 and an ATI Rage Pro AGP card.
Should this board be sent back for recall. He recently bought it at a FRY's store (two weeks ago).

The reason this is happening is that the Duron can't handle the 133 FSB @ the default multiplier. There is nothing wrong with the board. You are trying to run it @ 8 x 133 = 1064mhz and it can't handle it. This problem will always occur with the lower speed Durons, and it's not much of an issue with the Tbirds any more. There is a way around it by changing the default multiplier in the L6 bridges to something lower like 6 (6 X 133 = 798), and then running it @ 133 FSB. I can see now why it would not post...
I see....said the blind man!
It would have been easier to choose another motherboard and I'm not one to go scratching into a processor although the price of the Duron right now is almost worth the experiment.

There may be an easy way to do it without cutting any bridges. My suggestion would be to look @ page 6 of that article titled "Digging Deeper" and look at how the L6 bridges are for the 8 multiplier. If you closed the one in between the two that are already closed, it would make it a 7 multiplier and it might be able to take 7 X 133 = 931. You could use a pencil, and if it doesn't work, just erase your mark. It's worth a try....

Also, set the voltage to the max of 1.85 in the bios before you put the jumper on the 133 position to give it that extra voltage it may need to post...

FYI, you may not really have to modify the L6 bridges. I didn't and it works fine. The only thing you have to be sure you do is set the multiplier before you flip the jumper to 133. That and bumping up the voltage to 1.85 helps it post. The funny thing is that once it posts the first time at 133, I can drop the voltage down again.

I agree that it would have been nice if it just had a 100-200 range without the jumper.

Just to clarify, you are going to have to slightly modify the cpu in any respect. You need to unlock the L1 jumpers at the very least in order to change the multiplier. While you're at it, connect the L7 jumpers to be able to modify the voltage.

These mods can be done with just a pencil. No Dremel involved like in the article for the L6 bridges.
