Anybody heard about a recall of mobo's from Iwill and what processors do they support. I have a friend that ordered one and it is back ordered and just heard there was a recall of their boards. Appreciate it if somebody could let me know. Thanks.....

Well, there was a recall on the Iwill KK266 back in March. All the shipping boards now are supposed to be okay. I have one and it works fine.

What board did your friend buy?

How do you tell if your mother board is one of the recalled ones? Or where can I find the info, I got my kk266 way back in feb, march somewhere in there and I have been having all kinds of problems.........Hopefully its one of the bad ones it would solve alot of problems.

The affected boards have a resistor problem that locks the multiplier at 8.5 (I think) when it is taken off autodetect. If you try changing the mult. and you can then you aren't affected.

I am not sure. I just know he bought a 1.2 GHZ. Athlon and he said an Iwill board. I was just on the forum today checking out my new system and so far I love it. I bought a 1GHZ. Athlon and a Epox 8kTA3 board and it went in so easy it was unreal. So far very stable as well.

So if I try to use anything other than auto detect for the multiplier it will not work? I tried to change my multiplier a while ago and every setting I tried the system would not boot. I would have to then re-set with the bios jumper to get it to boot again. I thought that the multiplier was locked from amd and that is what was screwing things up. So it is that I just need iwill to ship me another board and changing the multiplier will work?

The other problem I am having is with corrupted files, I am running windows 2000 and it looses the system config files, also it will quite often corrupt stored internet page files. I think that it has something to do with one of my nic cards sharing an irq with multimedia. I just moved my cards around and hopefully that will take care of that problem, I will see how long it lasts before I cannot logon to windows anymore and have to re-format. Nobody has been able to offer any suggestions or help with that one "HELP". I have been playing e-mail tag with iwill and have been getting nowhere.
